Intelligence is not welcome here;):thumbsup

Why the fuck do you think I'm here? I'm a moderator on the AMA District 37 website and I get so damn tired of babysitting the kindergarteners over there. I like to come over here and just be another dumbass with a skewed opinion. I'm with my peeps!:D

Don't know exactly what is considered "petty".

Going along to get along ain't the answer. But it is the plan of many to entrench themselves and gain self serving "change" from the original framework. The same folks that keep things stirred up so the majority who do the work and pay the bills don't have time and are made to feel guilty if they stop and speak up against the "machine of change".......

So again, what is the definituion of "petty"?
Petty is holding up a budget because you arent going to let the current party get any victory. Petty is not passing anything the opposition proposes so you can make them look bad and less effecrive, no matter the consequences to the constituents.
I spend a lot of my time Lobbying for the American Motorcyclists Associationn in Sacto and D.C. we couldn't get a piece of legislation passed that would have deeded a historical cabin to a state, it involved about an acre of land. It was deadlocked. The word on the hill was nothing was getting through.
There are wackos on the left, and the right, always will be. But historically the work has always got done in the middle. Compromise is the working code in politics. Lately that's changed. Also, term limits haven't helped. We don't have any upcoming old warhorses. Everyone's afraid to take a stand, stand out and make waves because everything's held again't them in the future elections they run in as they term out.

So then if your definition of "Petty" is directed at the politicians, I whole heartedly agree. I took your original post to mean "petty" was directed at the electorate who speak out against the "petty" governing system we've regressed to.

Congress' single digit approval rating speaks out that people are completely fed up with the game playing effecting their everyday lives and future.

I don't agree with compromise though. Compromise is a roots issue of how our system has become so screwed up. I'd prefer a solid realistic plan which is typically found in private business. The plan should be what's best overall for the people in accordance to how the nation was set up by the Founding Fathers. Instead we seem to have a system which does what is best for politicians to maintain power and control of their personal agendas.

As has been said, this nation doesn't have a money problem, it has a spending problem that has created something which in the private world that would be called a bankruptcy problem.

We as a nation must find a way to hold elected officials feet to the fire and force them to live up to the promises and claims they made in order to get elected. In this instance "our compromising" with them allows them to go in an entirely different direction from the one they promised to fulfill.
