Hopefully this doesn’t get buried but since we are going to cal city for new years does anyone know if there’s any places out there that rent sxs? Maybe find out if my wife is going to like it before i go and spend a bunch of money. I mean I’m sure she will but then she would get to try it with the group
I will be out at Cal City the 30th - 3rd, in our group we will have my xp1000 4 seat, my brothers 4 seat turbo S and another buddies new 4 seat Pro R as well as a few others, if you wanna meet up and go for a rip in each car shoot me a PM.

Awesome offer, and a great opportunity for @BHC Vic to see back to back what the differences are and help decide how much money he wants to light on fire…

Definitely try stuff out first. As long as the wife is OK with cold and dust the sxs beats riding a quad like mine did when our kids were little. It's still her least favorite group activity we do because of those 2 things and she's real aggressive compared to most when it comes to being a passenger in a fast boat or off road toy with me driving. The windshield cuts out the cold but adds a little dust . I hate to spend your money but I see one of the enclosed cab deals with suspension and 32" tires on it as our next one rather than the pro R .

Got any contact info? I wonder if it would fit in my trailer. Hadn’t thought that far into it 😂
He has one car left. I told him you’d be calling just tell him I sent you from RDP

My wife got over dust sand and climbing into our sand car , like a race car. At 57 she was like nope . I ain’t going anymore . That was fine with me ,
I thought !
until it was dinner time, make the bed , nookie time. And just having someone to be with .
Why we went the bronco route .
So now we explore , shoot , run fast through the desert or take it out for dinner while we’re out. I miss the sand , but enjoy her more .

I completely agree and honestly that’s why I’m looking and spending money to make her comfortable. I have a better time hanging out with her than anyone else

I think this is right at Jawbone Canyon Store? If not, there is someplace around JCS that rents stuff.

You might consider a North Star. Nice cold AC in the summer and heat in the winter.

We came across a few in the dez on Thanksgiving when it was windy on our dirtbikes . Like little Pope- mobiles with happy wives sitting shotgun holding tumblers. It definitely got me thinking ;)

If we get one I’m definitely going with the PopeMobile license plate.

Those Northstars are really nice, but 50k would buy a lightly used and built X3, with enough left over for a Jeep/ Tacoma/ Bronco, etc. And you’re never going to keep up with anyone running a sport sxs on the trails if they run at a decent pace.

Ride in a few different models, and if your trips will include others, get something similar to what they have. It’s no fun going slow in a fast sxs, or fast in a slow sxs. They both have their places. A rhino/ ranger is nice with kids because you can let them drive it, and they are great for camping in the woods when you’re gathering firewood and cruising slow. No fun in the desert if you’re with a group of faster cars and can’t keep up. If you think the dunes are in your future or you ride with a faster desert group get a 72” turbo car.

Just be prepared- side by sides are like boats- so be ready for an unexpected $5000 repair from time to time, and expect to spend some money after you purchase one- you’re going to be doing some customization/ personalization. And don’t expect a high level of reliability- similar to boats, there’s always going to be some maintenance item popping up- some minor, some major. The harder you use one, the more you can expect to spend on maintenance and repairs.

Make sure the better half understands what you’re getting into. If protection from the elements, heat/ AC, streetabilty, and crash protection are major factors I would look at a Jeep or something to flat tow behind the motorhome over a sxs.

Things like full-face helmets with a blower and heated seats can add a lot of comfort to a sxs if that’s a concern.

Doesn't the Union training center need a new Northstar for the welding instructor to haul tanks around in. Hint hint. Plus a trailer to haul it in for service. Then you can borrow it when needed.

Look into the Honda Talons! Not the fastest for sure. But more than capable and reliable with what your looking for.

I could probably be talked into selling this one 2018 XP4 turbo with ride command and dynamix suspension, has more billet and carbon fiber parts on it than I can even list not to mention many many other upgrades

Drive both, before you buy.
You sit lower in a CanAm than a RZR.
While I liked the CanAm more, wife preferred how she felt within the RZR.
Same reason we bought a RZR.

Only reason brother in law got the CanAm is because of the low ball offer I made and the guy took it!

Vic, if you would like to PM me on this Northstar, I may need to sell it to pay medical bills that are eating my lunch.
