Today met with the County Prosecutor for the pre trial conference. What a joke. All he said is , do you accept our plea. Said he could not change it. Bench trial to be set next. More time and money for everyone.
Kangaroo court.

What an absolute crock of shit. Is the ticketing officer required to be at the bench trial?

At this point, perhaps it's worthwhile to start planning on how to embarrass the county attorney in front of theJudge. Point out the statue and fact that no meaningful conversation was allowed with the county attorney which now puts an additional burden on the court and justice system.

Many years ago I went down the same road, plead not guilty then started the process, changed my mind to then plead guilty before the judge, but before I made the plea of guilty, I pointed out two quick facts with the biggest being the officer who wrote me two citations couldn't perform simple math and that I will only plead guilty and pay the correct amount of fine and court cost.

I quite enjoyed saying aloud the officer couldn't properly write a ticket!

On sobriety checks. It’s my understanding that FSTs are strictly voluntary. The kicker would be if you say no thank you, they could Trump up a charge of “I smelled alcohol, weed whatever. At that point they could detain you and bring you to the station for a breathilizer. Ariz LEOs truth or fiction?
