I’m having a hard time finding a vendor to seal our driveway and porch. This is in Denver metro. About 3,200 sq. ft. Got a quote 2 years ago for $3,000 which at the time I thought was outrageous. But who knows anymore.

Anyone else have intel on what a job like this should cost before I bend over and call these guys back?

Are they using xylene to strip old sealer? Or just going over it with new sealer?

$1 a ft to seal with a quality sealer. If no stripping needed.

One of the reasons I quit pushing stamped. Nobody wants to pay to re seal.

Not sure about the stamped concrete but I did my broom finish driveway and smooth finish garage floor myself. 5 gallons of sealer was a little north of $200. In Idaho it is recommended so the chemical used to melt snow on the roads doesn’t eat away at the concrete. I was going to use one of those 1 gallon weed sprayers but the instructions said not to get any on any vegetation. So, I just poured it on the concrete and used a roller on a pole to spread it out per instructions on the container. The 5gals covered the double side of the garage, the 25x35 pad in front of the garage and about 30’ of walkway. Took a couple of hours. Would have been much faster with the sprayer but not sure if the coverage area would have been the same? With the seams of the stamped I’m sure it would take more?

some pics look like no sealer currently, but the other pic looks like it’s absolutely sealed.
‘if no sealer yes 1psf is fair. Or buy yourself and pump sprayer and apply. Best to use water based sealers so your not stripping every time needs re done, every 1-2 years. If it’s already sealed and needs to be stripped and sealed for 3000 take that offer and sign lol

we will reluctantly do stamp concrete, but we will not seal. Seal at own risk. It’s a maintenance never ending nightmare

Yea between the cloudy areas and risk of efflorescence and pealing I would not offer it either. Looks bitchen when it’s done right but the products to do it right are $$$$. I need to get mine stained and sealed

Always wonder why people don't use Ashford Formula Densifier on concrete driveways and walkways. I've used it on hundreds of thousands of sq' of interior slabs and it flat out performs as advertised. The more you abuse it, the shinier and harder the concrete surface gets.

Did a little more research and looks like 1$/sq.ft. is the going rate. So that $3K quote was reasonable. They quoted for power washing and then two coats. The thing that threw me was I had the same exact job done a few years earlier with a different vendor, concrete looked great and all for less than $1k. Those guys no longer in business.

Oh well, if the quote is the going rate, $3K it is (no doubt higher now).
