Here for the week at the IEC. We are staying in the Marriott on Washington and 8th. Any good places to go eat around here? Anything fun to do or cool to see?

Since you're a welding carpenter...with a masters in sheetrock...I'd go to the Arch. It's pretty neat to walk up to it...not the prettiest of welds, but a metric shit ton of them 🤣

@BlowMe I think is familiar with the area. I've only hit it passing through.

You have to tour the bud budwiser brewery. It's pretty amazing. Fascinating how clean they keep it. Obviously the arch is cool.
Ok that’s on the list for sure. I don’t drink anymore but I used to be a HUGE Budweiser guy. My dad and brother still are

110% go spend a day at 'City Museum' downtown.

It's fucking insane. All built from the remnants of industry in the St. Louis area. it's like the worlds biggest interactive maze, it's impossible to describe, you just have to go there and spend a day wandering and crawling through it.

No joke, this place is something that you will never forget, and you will want to come back with your kids. By far one of the coolest places i have ever been in the entire world.

Pappy's BBQ and the Broadway Oyster Bar are both excellent for food.

Now we are talking! I gotta see how far that is from here I’ve never been but really want to go
Our address is Sunrise Beach but we live a few miles outta Laurie. Good chance of rain most of the day tomorrow but we could get out on our cruiser for a bit in the afternoon. It has full eisenglass. None of the bars are open anywhere near us on the water on Wednesdays.
Happy to help if I can

All of these are good suggestions. Don't waste your time on our aquarium. It's very small and not worth it in my opinion. There is a little greasy spoon diner right there downtown call Chili Macs Diner. I was there this morning for breakfast actually. Just your typical little diner nothing fancy but the ladies are super nice and friendly and that's my go to for breakfast anyways. Nothing around like it down there. Pappys is definitely the go to for good BBQ especially if you like ribs. Broadway Oyster bar is very close to you as well. St.louis style pizza is commonly known as "crap on a cracker" but our go to pizza chain is called Imos. There is one right by the city museum that they are talking about. If your willing to travel away from downtown a little bit there are some great Italian spots in a place of the city called " the hill " ( good part of the city ) we are very much a sandwich city. Blue city deli is ok. Place called Gramaphone is very good as well as a place called Gioia's that's famous for their hot salami sandwich with our stl style cheese. St.louis has a lot of good food honestly.

If at the brewery and wanting a snack, right across the highway is a pretzel place called Gus's. You can watch them make fresh pretzels and grab some warm fresh ones. They also have pretzel dogs, brats and sausages that are pretty tasty

So today we did a little bbq spot called salt something. Right by the stadium. Kind of crazy how quite it is. Really cool stadium and street though.

The bar in the train station was petty cool as well. Do the whisper thing in the archway near the entrance there. Not sure how that voodoo shit works but it’s pretty damn cool!😎

This was on Triple D: Anthonino’s Taverna (Italian/Greek). Try the toasted raviolis.

… A friend of mine who still lives in St. Louis was the right hand man to the creator of the City Museum… My friend was also somewhat of an idea man for a few of the exhibits… unfortunately the museum creator was killed on his bulldozer. while starting work on his next idea which I think was going to be called the concrete museum or something like that🤷🏽‍♀️…The bulldozer turned over and crushed him…. Can’t remember the artistic. genius behind the City Museums name.???…

Sorry for the delay, looks like you already hit a few spots. My cousin just got back to me today:

“Recommendations for downtown Saint Louis- leave.

Jk. Ballpark village will be your most active/ safest/ modern variety of stuff to eat, drink and hang out.

Union station has an aquarium and a Ferris wheel, for day time activities. Also the arch has a museum underneath, worth checking out.

There’s a casino near the river. I don’t know how nice it is anymore.

A bit further away is the fox theater if they are looking for a play. The art museum/ zoo is further away toward 44 and like Hampton, if the weather is tolerable.

Food places are any easy google search.

Bbq- salt n smoke, sugarfire”

Also, try some St. Louis style pizza with Provel cheese.

You will either hate it or love it.

I eat that shit once a year around Christmas when I visit. Probably clogs my arteries for a few months.

I missed you by a day Vic, I was there Monday and Tuesday. Our meetings were downtown at the Hilton by the ballpark,.they have a whole entertainment district down there, someone told me there is a better than average Baseball museum there but I didn't have a chance to check it out.
