A year ago, I wanted to kill the little fuckers as they nested in my attic. I have shot thousands of ground squirrels, never a tree squirrel. Today, I find myself caring for this little booger I rescued two weeks ago. Feedings every 3 hours, around the clock. He was cold and lifeless at one point. He is strong now and starting to explore. Not sure what I have signed up for, but this journey has been pretty cool, so far. Sparky the squirrel gonna be waterskiing soon.

haha they are fun creatures.

I've been around a few rescues, you're in for a long run. For feeding the puppy milk, its best to just get a syringe style feeder, it'll save you some sanity.

They're cool lil fellers.... I resqued one as a kid when it fell from nest and one of our dogs was munching on it.... man can they make loud sounds.... my mom and sis brought him back to health over 6 months and he crawled all through their hair having fun. We let him go back to wild eventually and I always regretted not marking him in some way so I could identify him from all the others. You may consider that too... every time one would churp at me and stop and stare I always wondered if it was our lil guy.

We did the syringe for the first two weeks but the lil guy would spill and clean up the spill more than going back to the syringe. Tried the spoon trick and found it easier to control the amount he was getting. He started some solid food , yesterdat.

You know those rats with fluffy tails live a long time.

Tree squirrels are nicer than the ground squirrels thou

So a sqUriel climbed and burrowed for the winter in our cellar. Climbed down to base of cinderblocks and died. It was the most horrible smell for years. We tried everything short of knocking down foundation.

I hunted, cooked and ate them in my youth...taste like chicken...
I know I had over 10,000 rds of .17 HMR at one point and have shot about 3000 rds of that all at ground squirrels\whistle pigs not including the .22 stuff I fired off. I brake for tree squirrels though. lol
