Life is normally juggling chainsaws lately.
This week is "Fall Break" for one monkey, one has a different school program and one is in college. Today, we rolled out, as college monkey had no class today, and was going ahead of schedule for her internship work...

First stop was in Williams. This is a kind of bobsled deal. It's an individual sled, and it takes you up to the top of a north face with a cool view...for a few seconds. Then you're rolling down hill through the trees. No loops, very kid friendly...Couldn't pull my phone to take pics 🤣

Walked old town Williams. Tourist trap, but still fun. Better than Oatman I feel, and lots of SxS's and bikes this time of year.

The goal was to eventually hit Flagstaff...but went the long way.

Basically, because why not?

Rolling the northern route, went up near Snow Bowl to see some fall colors. Not quite turned, but close.

We went to "Bookman's" in Flag. They sell used books and music. About as close as I can get to being around some of those areas...kind of becoming San Francisco in the mountains...but the kids had fun, and got a couple books.

Ate dinner at a Filibertos, and headed south.

Rolled down 17, which is getting better since last winter. Stopped in Camp Verde for ice cream off the dollar menu at McDonald's, and headed back over the hill and home.

Not a huge trip, nothing fancy or super special, but still kind of was.
Simple things...

… Your kids are really lucky to have you as a dad…👍💕… If Williams is the one with the ski slope… An old friend of mine, an electronics engineer/wizard Milan Moody from when I worked at Litton Industries… I believe it was he and his family created that ski resort… he would takeoff and go to Williams for the weekend… And stay in a shack that the walls were so thin he could see the cold coming right through the whatever the wood was… I was convinced they were never going to pull off this ski slope deal… but they did…🤷🏽‍♀️

I worked at Litton for 35 years and one of the guys I worked with was a partner in a lift at Williams. It was a rope tow and they could never get the permits to go bigger. His name was Stan Wyse and was one of our engineers in our department. He was super smart and one of the nicest guys around. I am not familiar with Milan Moody. I retired in 2006.

the trick is to give the person in front of you plenty of head start so then you can see if you can bomb it without pulling on the brakes. i pulled one time to keep from rear-ending some one. :p

… I was in Van Nuys at Data System's Division…from 1965-1969…then I left to get some College education… You may have been in Woodland Hills at Guidance And Control…
… I don’t think I knew Stan Wyse but the name does sound familiar???…
… Milan, Moody, was part of our water ski bunch and a super nice guy… Towards the end of my tenure at Litton… Milan had an office at an off-campus …so to speak… location…a small office across the street from Data Systems main buildings…And was being paid as a consultant…
… I think I googled him several years back and it showed him to be deceased… but I do not know that for sure???…

We did canyon coaster last weekend
It was fun but kinda short ride for 20 bucks.
Wish they would expand their food menu. Nice views off the outside deck.
We also did Bearizona again. Took our neighbor who used to work there. She knew the names of all the animals.

Looks like a good time! We took our kids to Williams in April for Spring Break and did the coaster, Bearizona, Grand Canyon, Flag and the Craetor.

We all really liked the Frontier BBQ and Beer Garden- Good food, cold beer and fun stuff for everyone to do. Worth checking out.
