You can sell your spot and get your money back.

Everyone is “so mad” yet no one wants to sell their spot to me or Dave for cost, they want a few thousand on top.

Kinda funny.

You can’t. Deposit was non-refundable as were the accessories everyone purchased 6-9 months ago when production was supposed to start.

You can sell them and I know multiple folks that sold at cost to break even. Multiple units for sale on other sites, and most are selling at todays prices.

I think the demand has stalled. The number of new deposit holders is not growing as quickly anymore and if you jump on other sites the number of frustrated deposit holders is.

Yea they are still here. They have the first round of cars they already prepping for for delivery. They claim that will be before Christmas but we’ll see what happens.

What would you do? Bring the car out and have a bunch of problems, or hold off and fix them? They found a couple problems late in the game and are fixing them.

They have 20k units in pipeline to build. 4k direct to customer, and 16k to dealers. The car is coming, regardless of how much whining people do about it.

Tell that to the Cybertruck deposit holders too.🤣
You can’t compare the 2. Every time you do, it makes Speed look worse.

CyberTruck - Announced 2019, with target production to start fall 2022. During the 2022-Q3 earning call (Oct), production was pushed to fall 2023. That is a 1 year delay. Refundable $100 deposit and no additional payment is due until you take delivery. If the tech specs don’t align with what you want (or what was originally communicated) you get your $100 back (Without having to sell your spot). Purchase price was TBD. Has a warranty and repair network established.

Speed - Announced 2019, and they announced deliveries to start in 2020. Continually announce production and deliveries to start and continually announce additional delays to production and deliveries over the last 18 months. That is 2, going on 3 years of delays. Non-Refundable deposit of $1,500 plus non-refundable accessories had to be paid months ago for those with an early production numbers (when they stated deliveries to start soon the x time). Purchase price was locked in when you made a deposit. Very limited warranty and repair network established.

Summary
Production and Delivery Delay = CyberTruck winning (1yr vs 2+years)
Deposit / Payments = CyberTruck wins (100% refundable, with zero out of pock until delivery)
Established Repair / Warranty Network = CyberTruck wins
Price Lock = Speed wins

So some actual updates from the web.
* Robby commented on a speed post about the blue car saying they're being very hard on the cars right now as a customer would.
* Out testing with EMTRON this past weekend
* Blue car got towed back to camp, but was able to drive itself onto the trailer per a user on the FB page that had a picture of it on the trailer
* Car is in Havasu being worked on as we can see from pics of the motor and trans out of the car
* No word on what issues that blue car had
* Blue car was at sand sports, and driven in Utah, Parker/Havasu, and Glamis

If they don't deliver those first 100 cars before the end of the year....They will be a defunct company IMO.

imagine the problems of getting parts / warranty work / dealer network etc after deliveries? are they so concerned about releasing a "perfect" product, because they have no ability to service clients after the delivery? or are they just dragging it out because they can't deliver period?

I'd assume new orders are down.... and they did not anticipate that.

any-who, sounds like the few in here that have orders in do not care at all about lead times, and on the flip side do not care if they lose their deposit money if this never comes to fruition.

I'm not a potential customer, but have been super curious to see how these things perform in the real world vs. the competition. I am also impatient lol

We’re also comparing a trillion dollar publicly traded company vs a private sub 500 million dollar company.

Tesla can fund pretty much anything. The $100 is to keep a billion people from preordering.

It was not me that compared the 2. LOF is the one who keeps trying to compare the two.
My summary is 100% accurate and honest. Speed only wins in price-lock, which for me is a huge concern.
A company from a on-going concern standpoint can‘t depend on future sales to offset the loss on early sales. Or as LOF calls it, the loss on early sales is marketing money that was not spent. Either way that accounting causes me concern, but what do I know (LOF will say nothing). However. I saw enough funny money BS when I was with PwC, KPMG and 10 years as an Internal Audit executive to call it out. Might be wrong, but only time will tell. I made a career in financial forensic accounting and auditing and finding issues, especially during M&A activities :)

Watching Todd’s video on thanksgiving day and he was saying they are have QC problems left and right. I’m not surprised as I still believe they don’t have a grasp on supply chain efforts. So there are delays there. Plus they added more do dads to the car so delays there too

I honestly think high schools need to implement some M&A and auditing curriculum to create questioning minds in the general public. Anyone that has had exposure to the general process of business forming, operating, merging, and going out of business look at things through a different lense. Its sinister at times but so is the real world and when money is at play people do things that the general public doesn't seem to comprehend.

I hope Speed has the resources to deliver as promised and meet its obligations along the way but QC issues late in the game after multiple missed promises doesn't usually end well.

I can compare whatever I wish to compare. Compare it to the Tesla roadster when Tesla was just a start up.. same thing, overpromise and under deliver. Debut of Model S, same story.. car was late, more expensive, and range was not what was promised…

They are a trillion dollar company and still do the same crap to their customers they did as a start up.

Tesla has over promised and under delivered in every platform they have come out with. You say you hate that, yet are all in for a truck that will cost more than they told you, not go as far as they told you, and is already late on delivery.

I can get all my money back and then some, at any time, I’m locked in on a massive discount, I just have to wait for the car. You seem to be upset I have to wait for it. I don’t know why.

Me too. I got into the habit creating lesson plans for 15 years. It helped me stay one step ahead of the kids most of the time. I'm sure it's annoying for those who come to me with ideas today. My response to their usually brilliant ideas is, "have you considered . . . " or "what if ______ occurs?" I'm sure it's annoying as hell 😄

I'm the same way.
I'd rather have a plan for everything I can think of that might go wrong.

I don't see it as being negative, but some do.

You started with CyberTruck (see below). I prove that to be BS, so you switch (above post). You seem to do that often in this thread.

I am not upset with anything. I just call BS out when I see it.

Tell that to the Cybertruck deposit holders too.🤣

I just said they have been doing the same BS for almost 20 years. The gimmick with the truck being late isn't new. You just bought into the latest round. I've asked you this a bunch of times - Show me one Tesla vehicle that came out on time, and delivered the range first stated at the price first stated. You can't because it has never happened. They have a history since inception of over promising and under delivering on vehicles.

In the vain of calling BS when you see it, you mean to tell me you ordered a truck expecting the price to go up and the range to go down? That is what you eluded to in another post earlier in the thread. But it is OK to deal with Tesla BS because you can get your $100 back at any time. 🤣

So LOF if Tesla sucks, does that make Speed suck any less?
Pointing out the shortfalls of one company doesn’t make another company any better.

No. Just having a guy saying he is a black hat and points out BS when he sees it, yet can't see the Tesla BS he is standing in, or realizes that Tesla went through the same issues when they were a start up on a car they only made 3000 of ever (Tesla Roadster)... is pretty comical.

It took Tesla over 5 years to get the Roadster to market.. and they had Lotus making the chassis for them. The car was late to debut, cost more than promised, and the range was less.. That has been the deal with every Tesla vehicle platform to date.

Can you point to another startup in the US that put a vehicle to market in under 4 years in this century? I don't think one exists.

Speed does not suck less or more. There are not even any products in customer hands to make the judgement call yet.

Pointing out the shortfalls of Tesla and Polaris, both well established companies, and then holding Speed to some kind of higher bar is ridiculous.

Polaris puts out product with subpar QC all the time and issues recalls. It takes them 3+ years to develop their new car. Tesla isn't amazing on that front either, and cant get a car out on time with the specs and prices promised.

And you are going to nail Speed UTV the startup to the cross for pushing out their debut car in the middle of a supply chain debacle as they try to dial in QC after designing an entire car from the ground up in 3 years.... Yea that makes a ton of sense.

Any we couldn't buy one if we wanted to, next time you see Robbie tell him thanks from my Polaris dealer

Don’t worry! Your Polaris dealer is sending you a Christmas card… nope? Oh just another Stop Ride notification in the mail.
