I can never figure out what part of the Speed is "outdated" in peoples opinions?
😊I used the example by another poster claiming the 2022 Rzr proR was outdated & you can't yet get a new 2023...LOL.
Aside from the fact it came off a design concept from 3+ yrs ago.

Just a question, how many weekend drivers spend how much time driving at the level Robby Gordon drives and how does that relate to everyday use?

Not sure where you are going with this?

I think he means, the average weekend warrior doesn't drive like Robby is driving them. I agree. But if the warrior wants to drive it like Robby, I hope the roll cage is built for it. Because it will get tested.

Ya know, if Speed did deliver as originally planned(I won't say promised) it would be a 2 yr old "outdated" car. As it stands now, it has been getting dated sitting on the shelf with zero real world consumer testing. Sure, it has had RG testing but not in a manner the everyday owner might.
I do not doubt it'll be a quality ride, but really now......how about he put the horse in front of the damn cart and get these Fuggers to market.

By that logic, the new Polaris is also 2 years “outdated”. It was well over a year late to debut, was designed over 3 years ago and now and has been out a year with what I am told are “no changes” for 2023.

Can Am is also no changes for 2023, and that car has been out over half a decade with small tweaks every year.

Now I can’t get a 2023 Polaris yet and people told me “ the 2022 is the same and you can get it now.”

So all 3 top line SXS brands have products dying on the vine, and no changes have been made to improve them after more than year of products in customer hands.

This is of course all hyperbole. The SXS MFGs only do major design changes every several years. The Speed design is not any more outdated than the Polaris Pro R and Turbo R line of cars.

Like I’ve said time after time.. I don’t want it rushed to market to satisfy people that don’t have one on order and claim they don’t like the company or the people who run it. The Speed product has has tons of updates in development and testing. They will have many more after customer feedback, just like the other brands.

If you are confident it will be a quality car as I am, let them do their diligence and bring the fuggers out when they have their I s dotted and T s crossed. It sounds like we are about there.

This car has the best cage bar none in the entire SXS industry. It is 1.75” .120” DOM steel for all the main cage structure.

The stock Speed cage is race legal, just by welding in horizontal door bars. No other SXS can say that or has that cage specification. They all need an aftermarket roll cage to race.

The cage and safety of the car is what sold me on it.

I looked at the pre-production cars at the AZ off-road expo yesterday. Are the tube clamps in the horizontal plane at the roof line the final design? One of the cars had a NORRA tech sticker on it. When I was racing Jeepspeed, those were not legal in BITD.

When I was a co-owner of Ultra4 and KOH back in the day, we did not allow tube clamps.

That was the first thing I noticed when I looked at the cars. I know the other manufacturers have some weird connection points as well. We have an aftermarket cage on ours because I did not like the stock cages.

I also want to give RG props for being just a damn cool guy to people at the show. He had a crowd around him, but he was taking time to put a boy in the car that was about eight, and he was really connecting with the kid. I heard him ask the kid how he got a burn scar, and the kid said it was from his motorcycle. RG pulled up his shirt, showed the kid a matching burn scar, and told him how he got his racing IndyCar. This is where this guy shines.

I agree . He can be a people person . My grandson and I had a nice interaction with him about 4 or 5 years ago .

Post from the Fb group today.

#127. Got the call today!

I was at Home depot today getting a door when I got a call from a blocked number….. Almost didn’t answer it but I did…. A guy on the other line said is this Jake, I said yes. He said this is Robby Gordon Speed utv. He said I have some good news. Your car will be in production next week. It will be ready for delivery right around Thanks Giving.

It took a little while until I got off the phone to relize that Robby Gordon him self just called me to tell me the news. So cool. I personally am in manufacturing and own a cnc machine shop i know first hand the struggles it’s been to get supplies and get things done with lack of skills and people. For Robby and the speed team to dream this up three ish years ago and now about to be delivering cars is crazy. Robby has a lot on his plate and for Robby to take the time to personally call me and tell me the news speaks volumes about speed and there customer service.

Cant wait for my car. Rode dirtbikes my whole life and this is my first side by side.

Thanks speed! Thanks Robby Gordon!

You can't make this stuff up. .

Not getting an outdated car is good because this guy can't deliver. .🏆

Let me put this in terms I know you can understand.

I want your steak dinner at Montana to be served as alpo because I want to see ASAP what it looks like before I make a judgment to buy my own steak dinner at a different restaurant as I don’t or won’t even eat at Montana. 😁

And when served as alpo I will complain that your dinner wasn’t even a steak dinner.

5 weeks before SSSS, they stated they had 75 built and 100 by SSSS was the goal.
5 weeks after SSSS, 127 is heading towards production. Averaging 5 per week, no bueno.
Also stated CARB testing was passed, but pending docs. That was 2 months ago.
Now those in CA are being skipped, so deposit holders in other states can take delivery sooner.
I guess that is a good thing, but why did they just make that decision vs the day EPA was received.

So, has anyone who DOESN'T have an RG model ordered been called? It seems as all of the pictures have shown orange suspension and cages, it makes me wonder if they are only moving on people's orders that are RG's?

I don’t know I’m 113/326 I’m not sure if they tried to call or not, but I don’t believe so. Both my cars are rg’s.

My number is right with your first one, that's why i'm asking. I haven't heard a peep but mine isn't an RG.

Call or text Karla or whoever your sales rep is and ask. They are normally very responsive.

It's cool that you guys will have the speed cars by thanksgiving. My group has 4 major outings, Halloween, thanksgiving, new years, and presidents' day, with thanksgiving being the major one. I really thought you guys would be missing at least half this season if not all of it, but if you can get it by thanksgiving then at least you will be able to use it half of the season holidays.

I think that’s it’s Great That RG actually makes the call ! Instead of some staffer person!

If you have any questions you can ask the man directly

I beg to differ. He is running a multi million dollar company. By him making phone calls all day. What isn’t he doing from the “CEO” seat?

That is how you run a startup at this stage, buy focusing on the customer. Specifically the early ones that will be your ENTIRE marketing campaign when they get their cars in a few weeks.

The only people complaining about getting a personal call from the person that runs the company about their delivery timeline, don't have a delivery.

What are the top 3 SXS brands? Can speed be considered at this point?

It’s the widest car with the most power, biggest shocks, and a 3 speed transmission.. I don’t know how it can’t be in the conversation as one of the highest performing SXS brands.

Lol, I've been for a ride in a Can Am, Polaris, Honda, and one time I touched a Wildcat, so I think they all perform better than a Speed car. I'm open minded and my opinion might change when you give me a ride in yours, sometime in January.👍

I’d defer to anyone that has had a ride in one. I have not heard anyone that came away thinking the performance was worse than anything currently available..

But looks like we will find out in a month or so :)

They were the pre-productions, but 90% of a production model, they were only slightly different in the doors, door latching, steering rack brace, and some other small things.

I rode in one in Parker, from my experience and what I shared here, the car feels like a 10 car suspension and handline wise, and the power was close to a Class 1 car in the delivery. The back seat was super comfortable and room, but I'm only 5'8", the only complaint was vision from the reat seat, but the only real way to solve that would be a single center seat.

Yes there were some minor differences in those cars vs what is coming out to the consumer.

Power level, suspension geometry, and shocks aren’t really aren’t any different than what they were testing. The production car fit and finish is better than those cars were.

I think these cars do have the least back seat space compared to a Pro XP/Turbo Pro R Polaris or a Can Am.

They have more than a XP/Turbo/Turbo S RZR though.
