You seem to be more standoffish I'd say...Maybe you hadn't noticed, I'm about one of the most level headed individuals in this circus. You being the numbers guy, I thought you'd not be too distraught over someone actually questioning the variables involved in regards to future sales of an as yet to be supplied commodity.

Standoffish how? Anyone can ask whatever they want, I have always said that. Also the asking price does not set the market.

I laid out my reasoning on pricing based on what I just saw at a trade show kicking off the season. No one there was moving off their “sale prices” which tells me the market is strong still.

The Can Am you used to be able to get for a little over $30k out the door is now $40k out the door.

A Turbo R (180 HP) with a cage, windsheild, wheels and tires was $50k out the door.

I think the idea that a dealer in this sales climate is going to leave money on the table is a fantasy.

Legit, no joke, Dave’s early Speed for $80k is more optioned out than the $80k Pro R in the Bert’s booth that had a cage, doors, a wrap, wheels and tires yet otherwise stock. That car still needs a stereo and comms that Dave’s already has for another $5k.

In that context yes Dave has to find a buyer, but in a world where there still aren’t parts for cars from established manufacturers… the lay person buying on emotion does not care.

Someone posted that Carl is getting a divorce and his wife isn’t gonna allow any of the purchases on a speed page. I offered to buy all the spots at 3k over each.

It’s in fb so who knows if it’s true View attachment 1157040
LOL I didn't think that was the real Dave Johnson, I thought someone used your name on a fake account, your avatar photo threw me off 😄

I wish 1Carl would chime in though to answer the "all of her house funds" kind of an odd term used here. 🤔

Who said I was talking about my posts?
As you say to others, "Try to keep up".
“I stand by every thing I say”
“Speed is a Ponzi Scheme”
“Everyone knows it is clearly not a Ponzi scheme”
“Oh seldom am I serious!”

😂😂😂😂

Sorry I guess I just assumed you were looking in the mirror!

So to clarify you won’t be betting?
Based on my position, I could possibly be betting for or against myself so probably not.

Feel free to mail me a check for any amount you choose.

My favorite charity thanks you in advance.

Dude, I’m giving you an out for your double talk.. you should take it 😂

Double talk?

I must say, and most would probably agree with me, I've been nothing if not consistent in both threads. 🤨

If your ability to follow context is clouded by your urgency to seek a perceived victory, that's something I can't help you with.

Again, "Try to keep up". 👍

buying used, unless your an RDP member ( we always pay cash ) you’ll have to find some type if financing

$80,000 is a chunk to come up with !

This is really what was meant by my thoughts of a flooded market. Dealers whom may have purchased multiple spots have a massive advantage. I'm not even a duner anymore, but the sign now pay later crowd are rolling fat. Honestly, I don't know what the finance options are for UTV's...not my wheelhouse. 80k is 80k...but someone has to front that number in order for someone to get that number. So, in that respect, the number of actual "cash buyers" is more limited than the dealer customers. Add into that, those that have the aforementioned funds, and want a vehicle that is not a custom built to their desires (colors, mods, etc.)

@LargeOrangeFont , as for being "standoffish", I was referencing the comments you made in regards to the "trolls". That which you said they first said you wouldn't get a car, then the car would be junk and finally now you won't get the profit you think...
Well that, and a large percentage of the previous 64 pages happens to be you 😂
As I said in this thread, and the thread some of you got grounded for, I hope everyone that has cars on order gets their cars, is happy with them and gets them soon.

There are another hundred pages preceding this in the other thread.. as RD himself said a few posts ago- they have said all of that hundreds of times for 2 years. Their position is always evolving as to how we will be screwed in this deal. As you see tonight “now they weren’t really serious.”

Wow that’s a relief 🤣

I guess, but I wouldn't consider my comments "trollish"...hell, if I want to piss someone off, I am usually direct about it. I'm a bit too lazy to "fish" for a response. Usually if I go through the trouble to type a question, it's because I'm genuinely curious. I'm not like some of the people here, typing does not come as easy as the words.

Which one you taking? A RZR with a cage and some bolt ons for 70k?

Or a fully loaded speed for 80-85?

I don’t think ole Carl’s pricing was that crazy after all.. he was just such a prick about it a lot of people want him to fail.

I was talking to a friend that flips and sells offroad shit for a living. He thinks the early cars are gonna be 80-100 depending on how built they are and how early.. I was shocked.

But when you see shit like this RZR it does kinda make sense..

I'm curious why you are wanting a bet from me?
I have NEVER said the cars would or would not be delivered by a certain date.
I really don't have an opinion on anyone's car other than the one's I have a vested interest in.

I didn’t lump you in with the speed criers. You asked an question and gave a scenario and we are having a conversation.

You appeared to ask why I interact with certain people a certain way, and I was giving you context for those interactions. It’s because they contribute 0 to the actual conversation. They are just here to argue with me and then complain that I argue with them. So I led them down the road that they thought they would prevail and finally prove their point and they were wrong.

Your proclamations of some kind of victory are humorous.
It reminds me of the Black Knight from Monte Python's Search for the Holy Grail.
Your tenacity is admirable but your victory is questionable.

I'll include a link for those too young to catch the reference.

This SXS market seems to be a pattern I recognize.

Reading this is exactly why I left Glamis and the whole group behind. Their switch from Quads to Buggy's left me with no fit. At first it was reasonable to build your own using a Johnny's Speed and Chrome 4 seat mid engine chassis and stick a junkyard rotary in there. So I partnered in the 1st build but that didn't work out because we had different Glamis friend groups and the thing was always broken.

Then the Funco air bagged $500 hp/million dollar Subaru, to the Northstar to HELL I cant finically support this.

Then at the snap of fingers all the big boy big dollar shit was rolling in. Glamis was being filled mid week with staged camps, and the toys were mega cool but this guy could not play in that realm.

I guess when these things reach $100k I will be shaking my head why I never bought a Dual Sport Buckshot years ago...oh thats right not 4WD.

You are right, that is the progression of everything. But even with these things, it’s need vs want. You can go buy a $20 k car and have 95% of the fun. Maybe even 98% if you aren’t in Glamis. You don’t need a 200 HP car to go have fun.

The best SXS to buy is a lightly used one modified to your tastes. Let the other guy take the hit, use it for a few years, rinse repeat.

That is humorous.

Correct but if your group moves through the desert at 60 mph and your going 30 mph your phone stops ringing. That is my point.
OR -
Hey man since your slower than us or "still on a quad" you lead the trail of kids.

Been there. I went from a 370 Long Rod, extended swing arm, Olins shocked Banshee and I was not catchable to leading little kids to Boardmanville.
Most that know me Kids are not an issue but perhaps Keeping up is a bigger challenge then just buying and flipping.

The SXS thing is not that big of a disparity yet. Unless it is Glamis or you are doing open desert, washes, or fire roads, even they you aren’t going to be walked at double the speed.

A 100 HP car will run with a 200 HP car in the trails. There is not much difference.

And that is in a fast group, which sounds like who you run with.

The leisure set goes 30 MPH max all day. Nothing wrong with that at all, but literally any car will work and keep up.

I did our Havasu to Stateline ride last year with the lowest HP car on worn tires. I got left a couple times, not horribly but they were doing 70, I was doing 60. Also passed some cars with double the hp a couple times.

I offered 1,000. Did you not see my post?
No I saw yours. You have cars on order and an actual interest in the cars. The problem is I’m on the same side of the bet as you 🤣.

I just figured the naysayers would like to have some skin in the game. I cannot understand putting the amount of effort into these threads to be negative.

It’s so negative that when you layout terms they try and nitpick that 🤣

The guy I bought the paddles and fronts from for my Can-am put a deposit on a speed car (insurance money from his wrecked SXS) the first day at the Sand Show when they were announced. He is pretty bitter having no car for the last three years.

The guy I bought the Eliminator Ski Comp from told me he has several units and has a race team ready to toss a care into the first race as soon as they have it in hand. There are a couple guys on the team that are big names. I know he was antsy about getting his hands on that first car back in May and he is still waiting.

I'll stick to my old LS1 Tatum sand car that I picked up for a steal and the ex race Can-am Commander that I got for a smoking deal as well. Those two suit me just fine for what my family and I need.

There is literally someone that just said they don't have an opinion on this car, when for the last 60 pages has been giving his opinion on it....lol

No kidding. Speed Derangement Syndrome is real.

He also stands by everything he said 🤣

haha this happened to my groups a few times. Downhill mountain biking racing, pit bike racing, boats, RC cars, motorcross racing, and latest is rockcrawling. Everyone in a group usually starts off with the same level of equipment. Usually entry level stuff to get into the sport. Then comes a round of upgrades or new vehicles. Then another. By the 3rd or 4th round of this you can really see who is pouring money and time into the hobby and who is not. I can afford to go hard in one hobby and keep up but my problem is I have 4 or 5 hobbies. So my free money is split 4 ways.

If you trace the sxs to the rhino days then its getting there. You aren't going to keep up in a canam ride in a old rhino.

This...I am the fastest in our family group with my painfully heavy 125hp XX against X3s and Turbo S's. The other side of that token, take someone who drives like an asshole like me and put them in a turbo s or X3 and I probably won't see their tail lights. At the end of the day, none of us mere mortals are pushing the limits of what these cars can do.

LOF and I were the “slowest cars” in our group with n/a 1000’s but still our group is insanely fast compared to most. I know this because I have been on other group rides and it’s painfully slow lol. To each their own tho. I like to go fast and push it just a little to scare me. It’s the only way you get better as a driver.

I still need to get out on a run with the RDP crew, the stars have never aligned on scheduling

haha this happened to my groups a few times.

In 1999 I bowed out of my Glamis group. When I built my car in 95, it was typical of most average cars, JSC short wheelbase, 2332 that was very stout. We had a guy with a ported 13b turbo, a 2.3 turbo...normal stuff. This was before long travel cars were common. There were some, but not the majority.

In 99, my friends all went long travel. Built or ordered new cars. I was 21, and just bought a house. The rides changed. Rolling was replaced by launching. I was the guy lost in the dust. I sold the rail, and it became start up funds for other things as well as a couple house payments.

Keeping up with the Jones' just never worked out for me.
