Not a hater but man I’ve seen quite a few for sale lately. This guy seems to hit the nail on the head.

To be fair , he didn’t purchase a Toyota Camry , these cars are like custom West Coast boats , they will have teething issues . I still think it’s really cool to be in on the ground floor from concept to actual running car .

Jesus fuck

These are 3 digit VIN machines from a start up company. If your delusional ass thought they were going to show up without flaws you need to realize you don’t have the kind of $ you think you do!

Think of buying a 2003 6.0 Ford….. guess what fucker, you bought the first headache.

Waaaaaaaa!

Some baller complains he is on a schedule and has to fly back to Porto-Rico next week.

Cry me a river Biff.

Coulda bought a new Polaris with a stop ride 2 weeks after you bought it.

Shit happens. Suck it up princess. Like the rest of us do without going on social media to wet your diaper.

The pro Rs are really nice and turn key. What kind of cracks me up about this whole thing is there really is no noticeable performance difference on the top 3 cars. Why would you want to put up with the headache at this point unless you live or are 50% plus based in Havasu. Even then is it worth it?

Well to be clear on the thread title this is the same guy that’s in all the videos in the speed thread.. so I’m not sure it’s “another” irritated speed customer.

I haven’t been paying attention but how many people are out there making videos like these?

They get off maybe One, then Robbie gets in touch and threatens the shit outta them.

Next time you see the guy with the white one, that runs around Havasu, Ask him about it.

He showed my BIL all the text messages Robbie sent to him.

Hell of a way to do business.

A new startup business where the cars are expected to be beaten to hell and ran hard. I think the cars are actually handling everything extremely well! Can you imagine how good these are going to be over the next couple of years when minor bugs are worked out and new products are implemented?

Agreed 100%. The Pro R will be our next ride unless something crazy happens.

I can imagine they’ll be very good. Can also see where they’ll never figure out the drivetrain issue.
Do you think they’ll ever figure out the Speed Key that was promised? Will they ever be able to run a windshield? The risk/reward just isn’t worth it for me.

Ya Polaris and Can-Am were never worth the reward when they first came out either. As well, Polaris still cannot burn up belts after how many years?

How long until you can run a Speed car on a long ride without worrying about making it back? Pretty sure the Pro R is pretty dialed. The new Can Am doesn’t have a belt. “Were never worth it” is in the past for those two. When will that be for Speed?

Our Rzr S spent most its life at the dunes sitting broken on the trailer.
Not damaged, just broke.

When I was into photography ya bought 2 Hassleblad cameras.
One to use while the other was in the shop.

****Not a Speed basher here****

We were out there to see the RedBull deal last weekend.
Robbie didn’t place well at all.
Probably frustrating for him, and his son crashed his car.

I’ll give Robby credit, he’s a showman. His driving was obviously better than the other racers.
Sounded like it wasn’t pulling top rpm or something and just not as fast as some of the other cars.
The suspension looked to be performing above par.

I’m sure they will get it sorted.

When Max rolled the car Robby turned around to check on him and make sure he was okay. That was a big roll. Turning around put Robby at the back of the pack.

It’s odd to me that Robby competes in these deals in Glamis. If I was a Glamis rider I wouldn’t be looking at the Speed car as an option, it’s a desert car.

As are ALL SxS's...

The power to weight ratio is totally bassackwards for the sand.

Yet, there are shit tons of em trying to pretend they are sand cars.

Sand cars actually DO have an LS in them! 😁

I did see a new polaris with a broke tie rod yesterday in a absolutely horrible spot. The down hill to Boriana mine.
Best fix would be to push it off the cliff right there and total it.
No clue what the guy was going to do. He was in a group, we stopped and didn't need to help.
Car looked less that a year old.
They all break.

They do fairly well for what they are but I won’t argue your point. You’re not wrong!

Broke tie-rod is an easy fix depending on where it broke. We carry a fix for them on our race car that will get us far enough to meet the chase truck should we break one.

Tie-rods (on production vehicles) are designed/meant to break. It's the weak link, that helps prevent more expensive suspension components from breaking.

(Richard, I know you know this, I'm just posting it for those that don't)

Except they didn't have one...pretty sure they left the car overnight
