Usually do spam for lunch but after leftovers for days because of the holidays I busted out one of my many cans of spam for dinner tonight.
Nothing like a delicious spam sammich.

That Spam would be right there with a choice cut Rib Eye steak if you were in Hawaii. I do like the stuff. Great for camping. Add some fresh tomato and a slice of red onion to that samich with Spam and Mayo and you move up to the world of true gourmet. Just don’t eat it every day.

My first encounter with Spam was a Boys Only fishing/camping trip with our Dad. Our Dad was a very good camp out cook. Our first morning he cooked Spam and eggs. Very good breakfast. We hadn’t been fishing, yet. Next morning, after catching fish, it was Trout and eggs . I like to eat fish. But, for breakfast, I’ll take the Spam and eggs everytime.

I’m a big Spam Fan.
Learned about it in the late seventies when I lived on Oahu.
The “spam bites” pictured are Spam Musubi.
You can get them at every ABC store or 7-11 in the islands.
Over there “it’s what’s for Breakfast!” for us working class guys. Still get one or two every morning I’m out there.
They’ve been around since the 1940’s when WW2 broke out.
I’ve been over there a few times when they had SpamFest in Waikiki.
