I've never had Scrapple before, but it obviously has way more attractive looking packaging/marketing & product.
Spam, however, fed our wartime heros & families when things were really rough. Pan fry it and make a grilled cheese sammy with it

That pretty much is true for most processed foods we buy & consume.

And get the thin crispy scrapple. Not the thick gooey scrapple

Scrapple is said to have everything but the oink in it.

Spam = Pork, salt, sugar and sodium nitrate... Pretty easy reading.

I have a recipe from one of my great aunts, who was a legendary cook, for something called "ham loaf". It tastes a lot like Spam and scrapple, but is made with ham obviously and not the leftover trimmings from the factory floor.
