Isn’t this old news? This was all decided months ago.
It depends. They’re scheduled to come home in March. If it happens sooner, it’s new. Still, may be just a bit of grandstanding.

Its been talked about forever, but there seems to be a never-ending carousel of "NASA needs to check this, NASA needs to review that" and the date keeps getting pushed.
SpaceX can't do anything to make NASA complete their objectives / reviews faster, so the ball sits in NASA's court much of the time while they are engineering this rescue mission.
I'm sure there a shit ton of critical stuff to review, but you can imagine how the wheels of progress turn over at NASA, being that they're a government agency

The fact that NASA already brought back the capsule that would’ve brought these astronauts back home shows that this is old news.

It’s just a recycled new story from both Musk and Trump. When I saw this post, the first thing I did was look at the date because I thought they had sent out this tweet last year.

All Brandon had to do was ask Elon.. They were waiting for NASA get them home. It seems Trump is tired of waiting.
He did. Back in August 2024. Again this is just grandstanding at this point.

So you're saying, let them stay up there and wait for NASA?
Lack of reading comprehension much? No. I’m saying that NASA said back in 2024 that it was too dangerous to bring them back so they went to SpaceX to bring them back. And this was big news back then. Just like it’s big news right now. But this is just a replay by them in order to grandstand. This development was made last year.

Here. I’ll do the work for you. Look at the dates. Look at the third video. It even says that they would be back in February. Again this is grandstanding. Trump did not do this. He is not your savior.

NASA initially planned to launch the Crew-10 mission in February 2025, with Wilmore and Williams returning home by the end of that month alongside two other astronauts who arrived at the ISS on Sept. 29 aboard the SpaceX Dragon capsule.

The pair now face another delay, as NASA announced on Tuesday that Crew-10 will not launch until March 2025. By the time they return next year, they will have spent more than nine months in space.

Not sure I'd call it a rehash. More like Trump's patience has run out depending on inept space travelers that get too much tax-payer money to ultimately fail.

I think the message is "go get them ASAP, don't let this delay any further".

Yes - it was originally planned in 2024. But the date keeps pushing out and the push is due to NASA continually needing to review info and work thru collaboration with SpaceX.

NASA moves slow - SpaceX moves fast.

Trump want's NASA to shit or get off the pot, and let SpaceX get this done ASAP.

I get that. But to say in August that we’re gonna get them in February and then come January you say we’re gonna go get them ASAP, which is February, is comical. And to say it’s because Trump said so, makes it more than comical.

So now let’s say we get them in February and people are gonna say Trump saved them. Others will look back and say but wasn’t this planned all along? Sounds like we got them in February when we said we would.

I guess it just depends on who you want to give credit to and who you voted for.

Still sticking by the rehash?

They just postponed it yesterday yet again. How is it a rehash when Trump says enough is enough due to Boeing’s ineptness? 🤣
Then I guess we’ll wait and see now, won’t we. What’s your definition of ASAP? When do we start the clock? He posted this yesterday and it I looked up in the sky today and still saw them up there. So can the Trump haters start saying that he’s failing at this point? Not even the Trump haters but the non-Trump fan boys.

It’s like some people saw the tweet and think that they are magically down here already. He saved them!

This is why sales and marketing guys get paid a lot more than operational guys.

Since you are hinging your argument on "they are already scheduled to rescue them in February . . ."

NASA announced this is delayed AGAIN, and will now be March instead of February.

Hence - Trump's message of urgency to Elon. This has been continually pushed out since the inception of the plan.

Those are the facts, no matter who you voted for....

So it sounds like NASA has been in contact with SpaceX since August? Not just since yesterday?

Facts and statistics are typically oblivious to those with blue blinders on, and i predict this latest delay will have an excuse in 3.......2.........1..........

It’s called lighting a fire under one’s ass.

Did Donnie issue an EO on the Lord’s of easy money at the FED yesterday or something? 😆

What did I miss?

Back in my Wells Fargo teller days, there was an operations manager position open. I went to my regional manager and said I wanted that job because I liked operations.

She asked me if I liked money. I said yes. She then said don’t go into operations and she promoted me into sales.

Yeah but who would be responsible for the latest delay in 3, 2,1? With Trump‘s tweet, doesn’t he now own it? Why would that be blue blinders?

Whats your point? It is AGAIN delayed. Due to this, Trump said "no more - get them ASAP"
and has a sense of urgency.

And those delays have happened continually since August without consequence, under Biden.
Hence - Trumps comment "it has been delayed under previous administration".

Seems pretty straightforward to me.....

Aren't you happy they want to increase the urgency to bring our Astronauts home?
Isn't this a good thing?

Lol

Your comment acts like it somehow got fixed yesterday? That Trump just saved them. You’re talking about space. This isn’t somewhere you can easily drive. So time will tell.

The fact that you are praising him for a tweet with no actual results are astounding. Pure marketing. Trump blinders.

NASA !

Why would Trump own the delay, that was allowed to occur under Biden, by simply saying "no more - figure out how to get them ASAP" ?

This hurts my brain, i'll probably bow out soon 😜

I get it. It’s tough to keep defending your savior when he’s not a true savior.

I’m saying the next delay. I use the wrong word when I said latest as I meant next. Because there better not be any more delays now that Trump tweeted. And we better see them back within the next week because I’m gonna be looking up every morning to see if they’re still there.

Again - didn't praise, just re-posted facts and stated the observation of the situation, based on FACTS.

If your gonna argue details, sharpen that pencil !

It’s been a challenge for them since August, has it not? Otherwise they’d have them down here by now. Can’t reset the clock just because of the tweet. That is what Trump is trying to do and his followers are falling for it.

Maybe this is where I'm missing your point. Has Musk been trying to get them back down for awhile also?

Wow! Carry on... ;) If I were those astronauts I'm not sure if I would trust NASA, at this point, being stuck there for 7 months... Give SpaceX a shot at getting home.

Post number 12. This is where it was announced that NASA was to start working with SpaceX back in August to bring them down in February. Where the delays have come from in regards to that, I don’t know. Put the blame wherever you’d like to. Most will put it on NASA as they are a government agency and they love Elon and others just won’t care.

NASA already brought their vehicle back to earth last month without the members on board. Due to the arrangement with SpaceX.

Fabrication, assembly, testing, and final integration of a new spacecraft is a painstaking endeavor that requires great attention to detail,” Steve Stich, manager of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, said in a statement. “We appreciate the hard work by the SpaceX team to expand the Dragon fleet in support of our missions and the flexibility of the station program and expedition crews as we work together to complete the new capsule’s readiness for flight.”

NASA stated that it had considered using another SpaceX spacecraft but ultimately decided to wait until the Dragon spacecraft was ready and launch the Crew-10 mission in late March.

I'm not totally up on this, but my guess is NASA is calling the shots and could have had them home, but choose a different path?

Time for @Racey

The crewed missions take much more planning than satellite missions. Satellite missions are booked out in advance so we see the schedules and take for granted all that prep and just think they are casually sending another mission.

NASA basically took advantage of this failure as a way to keep 2 more astronauts up performing additional tests and experiments. If it was a real emergency they could have gotten them down faster, but chose to keep them up.

It had always been the plan since late summer that SpaceX would come get them in February. The soonest available time to have a Dragon ready under a normal time schedule, non expedited. My guess is this will coincide with a normal supply delivery, send up a dragon full of supplies, send it back with two astronauts and any experiment samples.

This is my understanding of what happened.

That doesn't sound like they've been "working" on it. Does it to you?
It doesn’t say they haven’t though, does it? It just says the president asked him. Omitting the fact that there were new stories from last August. It’s a press release.

For someone who believes in conspiracy theories, I would assume you to be a person who doesn’t just read what’s there but also notices what’s not there. I bet you would be reading that more carefully a couple months ago. Just because you think he’s awesome, doesn’t mean you should stop questioning things like you did under the last president.

Will it make you think differently if I even told you that Fox News was questioning the timing of these tweets yesterday? Seeing as they had already reported on this last year?

So now that they've just postponed it another month, Trump said enough is enough is my guess.

I'm the first to admit I'm not fully up on this situation, I'm just trying to understand how this got postponed yesterday and when Trump said F that, he's grandstanding?

Don't get me wrong, he grandstands, but I don't see that in this situation.
