Went to go hop in the spa tonight and no pressure out of the jets. In ground pool hayward system, any thoughts on what is causing this issue? Actuators appear to be working, heater cuts on pump is running.

I know on mine there is a vertical tube that comes out of the ground near the pumps.. If the spa back fills wherever that tube goes the jets have very little pressure. I have to put a shop vac occasionally on it to blow the water out of it, and then it will begin inhaling air and the jets get considerably more flow.

If pump on and working? actuators both actually turned to spa mode?
Water coming out spa returns but weak or no air?
Start w simple things.
1 - check pump basket empty and see that pot is full and flowing
2 - when was filter cleaned last, if has been some time likely dirty filter, assuming jets pumps on circ pump since on actuators. If it has a backwash, try backwashing for a short amount of time and put back in spa mode see if jets any better, if so clean filter.
3 - is pump 2spd or variable speed is it running on high rpm/speed? Check programming if you have actuators would assume controls, possible pumps speeds changed on accident
4 - is spa suction line clear, possible need blow out to clear line
5 - is pump impeller clear remove lid and basket, WITH PUMP OFF, reach fingers inside feel the veins are they clear and open, no obstructions
6 - lastly are all jet returns blowing water, put hand in front of jets, is water coming out or sucking? If sucking jet orifice is clogged. A clogged orifice will suck water back into jet air line and usually vacuum water faster than air outside of spa, making jets into returns. If clogged you can try a hanger push back to see if you can knock loose,
( they make tools for this but a normal homeowner won't have ) or you can drain down spa and remove orifice w socket. Or easiest thing you would have access to and will work under water, use a 1/2 sch 40 pipe put inside of jet, make sure centered, you should feel when it contacts jet orifice, then push it, it should fit tightly onto the outside of orifice and you should able to unscrew, bring to surface clear obstructin and put back.

If still no working, time to call professional

My spa jets get weak when the filter is getting due for cleaning. But I'm not an expert so I don't know shit. [emoji57]

I'd refer you to a pro. Unless Grads has been at your house. Then I'd have you check your plumbing for a dildo obstruction first.

All joking aside it looks like you got some real tips from experts as well as homeowners with some experience.

Everyone else has given you a short term solution. Here is a long term one. Empty the spa, fill it with these:

and have a party. Never have to worry about chemicals or pumps or whatever again. If you want some jet action, throw a shop vac hose hooked to the exhaust port of the vac in the spa.

This is actually more of a question to the guys on here that really know. Our in the ground spa sets at a level that is above the main pool. There was a time when the spa would drain back into the pool when the filter stopped. That was caused by a faulty non return flapper style check valve. Could a valve like that mess up and also restrict supply water to the jets?

Not likely, that's generally your bypass to spa while in pool mode. Unless someone just removed the flapper. But spa would drain to pool level every time pool was off
