They have a direct to Nashville too. I flew it last week. Actually wasn’t as bad as you’d imagine. As said earlier the drink and food service was on point and the crew were fun. I’ll only fly Southwest if I’m Business Select. That Wanna Get Away shit is for the peasants lol

That airport might be the easiest of any airport I’m in and out of each week.

I wouldn't SWA to Hawaii...
I honestly wouldn’t give a shit what airline I flew to Hawaii if it mean’t flying out of LGB instead of LAX.

5 minutes from my house and i’ve showed up 15 minutes before departure and still had time to get a cup of coffee.

If you peak out the windows when you’re at about 1100ft…good chance you’ll see me taking a leak in my backyard if you’re on the first batch of flights out around 7:00AM. Lol

We flew to Nashville from Long Beach since it was direct. The airport was very easy, we did the valet parking was up close to the entrance and they washed my truck.

I'll try that next time we go to Nashville. Flew there last week with Spirit Airlines from LAX. What a clusterfuck that was!!! Will never fly Spirit again. They gouge you on baggage fees, and their seat padding feel like it's made from surfboard foam, lol.

What does Business Select offer?

We usually do the peasant shit and then pay for the Early Bird check-in.

Pick up the wife and kids from LGB tomorrow. Way better than LAX shit show.

We usually fly in and out of Vegas to avoid LAX

You can do that but I fly them so much on the west coast that the points are better with Business Select and you get A1-A15 boarding. That shit becomes important when your flying to places like Phoenix in the winter and the old blue haired wheel chair bound pre boarders are 50 deep going to their snowbird homes lol

Funny thing about those wheel chair folks. Not a single one needs a wheelchair once the plane lands 😂

I have companion status with them as well. That is a nice perk.
Yeah, I'm kinda bummed because this will probably be my last year with a companion pass. Thanks to Covid and all the damn Zoom/Teams/Skipe meetings that came out of it, I don't get to travel as much.

It’s about the only reason I keep flying them. It’s no frills and often times I can get a first class on United or American for the same price as SW these days but that companion status keeps me coming back.

We've flown to Nashville straight through 3 times in th last year, and once to Kansas City (LOTO trip) a couple weeks ago, and it's been super smooth. Generally 15 minutes from baggage check to the gate. We've always been hesitant to fly SW because you can't reserve seats, but we just pay the extra $20.00 to get early bird check in and it’s been great. Even with that extra cost, it still saves hundreds from other airlines for my wife and I. Just reserved straight through from LB to Chicago in December for the wife, daughter, and I to catch a Packers game in Green Bay, cost was way cheaper than United or Delta.....plus it's non-stop. We love LB airport!

yeah, the wheelchair thing is a scam for about 50% of the people that do it. The other one are families with “young” kids. Last year we saw a family with two 10 year olds do it because they had C boarding group and didn’t want to wait.… the last few times we’ve flown we’ve noticed SW doesn’t let theme board until A group is done.

I'll take Spirit with an assigned front row 2x2 seat any day over being pigeon holed on Southwest seat lottery with no option for a 2x2. I'm a tall guy with long legs.

Honestly it doesn't even seem to matter anymore, every Domestic airline flight to and from Vegas is like an inner city bus ride no matter what airline or price. So many people have zero class today.

we just did it last month...NOT BAD.. Drink/Snack Service much better than Delta/United/American.

Hawaiian by far the best in comfort, but the $200 savings per ticket for a family of 5 made it so much better and LGB is just plain easy!
Hawaiian Air was very close to the price of SWA. I was actually surprised. Headed to Hawaii in Sept.

You haven’t lived until you’ve flown out of Palm Springs Airport. It’s literally like being in a resort.
