Ya know, usually when people post food pictures, I’m out. This, though, looks damn good! I might have to show that to my wife!

Have the same thing going on here as well. Should ask for your recipes.
I think she just adds in the extra stuff right before it gets rested in the fridge for a couple hours before the bake. No tricks, literally just what the name says IE graded cheese/jalapeño.. The amounts are all done by her eyeballing it…

I have a little sourdough story. One day I was hungry and perusing the fridge for something to eat. Saw a Tupperware container with what I thought was some onion dip. Grabbed a bag of chips and sat down to enjoy a snack. One dip and I thought, damn this shit is spoiled. Tossed it in the trash. Come to find out a couple days later it was her sourdough starter. Oops

Feel like renting a plane and air dropping a loaf or 2 up here Tony? You could be the George Jung of the bread world! 🤣

Tina was just telling me she has an interest in sourdough too.

I am sure that Tir would hook Tina up with a starter if she wants! We are thinking about flying to Sedona for lunch pretty soon.

Wife fired up today came home to kids bakery session! She got the starter growing, getting ready for discard biscuits for gravy this weekend, an original loaf setting up, and airy bread loaf for kids pbjs.

About to smell good in this house. I can already smell the winter weight gain calling me!

I can do a lot of things but insure struggled through this whole sourdough process. It just didn’t click with my brain. I finally found the right one recipe that started to make sense and I went for it. Some friends gave us what I think is a very old starter. Here is a pic of day one when I dove in to get the starter going again.

Between two full time jobs and building a house I don’t have a ton of spare time but I was able to enjoy my first few bites of bread this morning at 5am as I left for Yuma. No pics but it was amazing!

This thread reminded me of my mom making bread when I was a kid. I mentioned it to my wife and she said she used to make bread all the time when she was younger but she had a bread maker machine. She loves to cook and bake but we don't have a lot of spare time. I went down the rabbit hole this weekend looking at bread makers...

Might be worthy of it's own thread, but anyone have a recommendations for a bread making appliance?

I’ve never been a “baker” but the bread the OP posted looks amazing. So giving it a try and started our starter yesterday Hopefully in a few weeks it’s ready.

Then we go down the road of trial and error of bread making.
