Enterprise. Here is my reservation for a wholly grail. I show up and they gave me a POS Nissan Rogue. Now I have a Nissan on Altima. Bet your ass I’m gonna rally that bitch going to the lava tubes this week.

AAA, Ford and I will be hashing this shit out when I get home. For now fun with the family.
You don’t want the rogue anyways mpg sucks and they’re gutless. I’ve rented often from enterprise. I hated when I saw the rogue, kick or versa.

Broke down on the 10 going up Chiraco summit in January in our Excursion, blew a radiator hose. We had our 3 dogs with us. After 9 hours of sitting, we just started calling tow companies in Blythe, as that was where we were headed. Finally got a hold of one, (I think it was an NFL playoff Sunday) and no one wanted to help us.

We paid the bill ourselves and submitted it to AAA and after some back and forth were fully reimbursed. AAA called my wife at 4 AM the next morning, to let us know they were still looking for a tow for us. Luckily we had some great river neighbors who picked us up from where we dropped the Ex.

What a shitty experience but I gave the driver every dollar in my wallet as a tip, it was close to a couple hundred bucks.

There's a tow company in Blythe that is a class act.....Momma lost a headgasket in her old 4runner coming through the checkpoint (lost the headgasket long before that...temp gauge didn't pin until she stopped at the checkpoint...lol)....called AAA and headed over the BBQ joint (best BBQ she ever had BTW) and waited....Guy shows up with a flatbed trailer behind a pickup, turned out to be a vet, was very respectful and cool and towed her to Indio where I met them with my flatbed to get it home. Guy was cool as shit when we chatted while swapping trailers.

I’m going to submit the truck and trailer tow to AAA.

Then I’m going to submit rental to Ford. If they deny that I’m going to loose my shit.

I think I’m SOL on the trailer tow to the campground. Which is fine. I can take that on the chin.
Depending on what credit card used to book campground I wonder if their “Travel Insurance” would pay out for anything? I’ve heard of people using the perk on AMEX just don’t remember the circumstances.

Glad to hear that. Remember, vacations and trips are all about creating memories. No way you’ll be forgetting this one.

@CLdrinker Is this something common with the 7.3? I really wanted the Godzilla in my next truck because I thought it was supposed to be extremely reliable. Not interested in the diesel as I don't tow often.

I have heard more about the camshafts having problems. Buy what you want and get the extended warranty and run it.

But from what I can tell is fuel pumps are rare.

Up date on this reimbursement rodeo.

Sent receipts for rental and tow to Ford via snail mail. No ETA no way of following up. Every Ford customer service number told me to eat a bag of dicks.

Called Anderson Ford Customer satisfaction rep she put me in touch with a guy whom reluctantly took my rental receipt and denied my tow receipt. He said it might get reimbursed but he won’t know for 4 weeks🙄

Went to AAA about the tow. Filled out reimbursement form and the agent put me on the phone to reimbursement department told them about the whole shit show and how we had a major safety issues and their Disbatcher failed to send a tow truck. They said they would review my form and statement and decide if I qualify for reimbursement within 4-6 weeks.

Such bullshit

Well guess I’m still a happy Ford customer.

Just got a check to cover the rental and another small check that I don’t know what it’s for.

So all said and done the whole shit show cost me $360. Not bad considering.
