Didn't want to jack @bonesfab audio thread. Does anyone here use sonos? How is the new app working for you? I'm really struggling with it since last week. It routinely can't find my system when I open the app. Playing different sources to different zones is not as easy as it use to be. I've complained to them but it's still seems to be a train wreck.

I was having issues too after the update. The solution I found was just let the wife control the music😁

It was confusing at first to find the new control short cuts. Just press on text in the top left corner and the drop-down of different zones and sources pops up.

Hmmmm. I didn't notice an update when I used it over the weekend. I think I open Spotify and just link it to the system. I'm not sure when I last opened the Sonos app. Now I'm afraid to try. 😜

Honestly I hate the update. I have 15 speakers. 4 of which I use outside. When I'm not around I unplug them and bring them inside for weather reasons. If its been a week or two they usually need an update before I use them which isn't much of a deal before because it would say needs update before use. It took me 30 mins of fucking with it to find out how to update the dumb things individually after the app update.....

I had one speaker playing oldies music, another playing rock and roll, both blasting, and my Sonos system was turned off. I had to unplug both speakers, dump the app, reinstall the app, then nothing worked.

It made up update the app yestrday, right before i was going to add a few speakers. After the update - I got 2 "new to me" playbars, tried to add them to my system and couldn't get them to register and join. Kept saying "update required, this will take a few minutes" - then click "ok" and immediately get an error. Gonna try to update each speaker independantly with an ethernet cable and see if that jumpstarts them. My Wifi shows they have joined the network, but they can't seem to complete the update. My existing speakers are all showing up and seem ok.

Thanks for the tip. The update is driving me nuts.

fuk that new update

Mine updated last week, it Didn’t recognize any of my equipment. Showed I needed to reset ea individually. my stuffs all set up in rafter of patio cover.
so pain in ass to “reset” go through the process on ea. only to show its there, now update, update unable to finish. Even tried reverting back to old sonos 1 or what ever they call it, nooooope. Gave up. Haven’t been able to use since

Shoot, I always felt like the app was kinda a pain to navigate (compared to our control systems). If it’s even worse now that sucks.

I have it in my MH so I’m not looking forward to it making me update :(

Yes, the new update sucks. Navigating SirusXM through the Sonos app is the most frustrating thing ever. I just play Spotify through that app so I can avoid the Sonos app. Glad to know it isn't working well for others too. Sonos, put it back!!!!

Just got my ports for the stereos and I am about to return them to Amazon. Fucking with them for the last hour to accomplish nothing.

The app is totally fucked right now, I gave up with adding my speakers. The customer service tech basically said “they are gonna need to fix this…”

Sent this to the ceo last week.

To: [email protected] Subject: New app. Way to go! You seemed to have made your app worse and I didn't think that was possible. Its constantly losing connection I can no longer play the radio station I want. Well done! So now I will sell my equipment for pennies on the dollar and have to invest in a different system from another company. Like I told your company on your site I don't expect a reply but just in case you have the stones my cell# is 760.403.6716

Response:
Hello,

First, we’d like to thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us and with our CEO, Patrick. We’ve received a great deal of feedback thus far, on both the improvements made as well as where we fell short. We expect that feedback will continue to roll in, so we’ll be working through it all in the coming weeks. We also recognize that there is more work to be done on the Sonos App, and want to provide you with an update.

We’re happy to share that we delivered a software update on May 14 reintroducing the ability to add and edit alarms, as well as initial screen reader improvements for iOS VoiceOver that will allow users to more easily navigate the app. If you are missing these features, ensure that your Sonos App and products are all up to date: https://support.sonos.com/article/update-your-sonos-speakers

Over the coming weeks, we will reintroduce the below features, while fixing bugs and addressing performance issues:

-Additional improvements for screen readers for visually impaired customers: May 21
-Adding to queue and playing next: early June
-Sleep timer: mid-June
-Local music library search and playback: mid-June
-Update Wi-Fi settings: mid-June

Thank you again for sharing your feedback with us. We’re working hard to bring these features to the new Sonos App quickly. If you are experiencing an issue with your Sonos System, feel free to visit these helpful resources, or get in contact with us:

-Sonos App User Guide: https://www.sonos.com/guides/sonosapp
-Sonos Support Home: https://support.sonos.com

The Sonos Customer Experience Team

I got a Sonos as a gift a couple years ago. By far my least favorite BT speaker I’ve owned. Battery sucks, stupid shape that rolls over and hits the off button. JBL or UE boom for the win.

I'm about ready to toss my Sonos system out the window with this update.
I'm with you. Got mine about 8 years ago and it worked great. Moved, finally went to set it all back up and it was terrible. All these tech companies create these great products, then can never just leave them alone. I have the soundbar, sub, and using 2 of the little ones for rears. I control it all though the TV or Roku stick. All the other speakers are in the closet collecting dust. I never use the app.

thankful did not go this route. I can barely deal with non technology advanced audio systems. Hate to see when the full on AI takes over. 😣

Still having issues? Mine is getting better but it constantly can't find my system when opening the app but it comes around. It sucks because I was actually going to add to my system, either a sub or some new surrounds and move my current surrounds to another room but not now.

Cannot get it to play my live one app. Also trying to switch between speakers is a pain in the ass. Like others have said it used to be so damn easy and they made it much more complicated with this latest update.

Updated mine a while back. As soon as I did it I couldn't connect to my system.

Finally got lucky and after deleting the app and re booting my phone it worked. Definitely seems more glitchy than before and I don't like the volume control as it doesent seem to increase the group like it did before.

I'm getting better at working it but its a fail thus far.

I literally have not had 1 single issue with my Sonos App and equipment working at all. it's a little bit of a learning curve to get familiar with the new system, but atleast it works!
