Parker got nailed hard. Was at Bluewater when it hit. Theyre system went down..but the machines were still playing. Anyone that had winnings in the machines could not cash out. They were writing down names and telling us we have to wait til the big chiefs come check shit out. Still no power in parker. What a shitty fn night!..trying to sleep in a pool of sweat..:eek:

Monsoon aftermath at the Nautical. Couple boats sank, one boat ripped off the docks missing.

So much for the new docks at Nautical. Damn I feel terrible for the people who’s boats got hammered.

Not good at all. You have to wonder what happened with that houseboat

It broke loose and the waves crashed over the back and it started taking on water.

Really wish Thompson Bay and the Nautical could get a break water barrier like Powell (old HD equipment tires).

Lights blinked and power stayed on. Yes
I saw a transformer blow as that power surge occurred. Wanna say down near Rusty's or a bit north of it.
Sitting in the middle of my backyard watching the light show when I noticed a wall of rain?......nope.... wall of dust/dirt rolling down from the mountains. It literally hit like a brick and almost blew me over in my chair. Wife comes running out saying it felt like someone ran into the house.
.
The cop boats that had been hovering around the north channel entrance prior to the wind hitting suddenly made their way towards river(in the heavy wind). They were near river entrance for an hour plus.
The amount of rain at my house was just enough to give us a light bath, maybe just enough to take a layer of dust off, no downpours at all.

Sure hope they were stopping traffic and not searching!
Waves had to be huge last night with the pics this morning.

Read that there was a report of someone drowning at the mouth of the river, but he ended up being on another boat. I couldn't imagine running the basin at night during weather like that.

Stscy was sitting outside and it sounded like a bomb went off out there. She came rubbing inside. Little close for comfort. Lol. Scared the shit out of her. :D

The thunder and lightning is crazy right now

"She came rubbing inside". ****** sounds like she really really likes rain storms....good for her....:D

Yeah, couldn't quite figure out what they were up to but that thought crossed my mind.
They didn't haul ass up there but crossed over lake towards indian side first before meandering around north side of river entrance grass island.

There were / are two boats stuck on the sandbar at the entrance of the gorge. Looks like they pulled some people off and two guys spent he night in the boats. Tow boat just now showing up to help them out.

Still no power or water in the Keys. We may have to look for a dog friendly place to stay. The Keys got pounded. Lots of debri everywhere. My boat got destroyed. Cover was ripped to shreds. My food is going bad. Blah blah blah. Interesting night to say the least.

We were at the X and power briefly went out, but that was it. Our house is fine other that the pool being a little dirty. I guess I should go to the Marina and check the boat after seeing some of these pics.

Hit pretty hard here at the Landing. Pics are of my neighbors awning. So glad I put the boat back in storage before it hit.

This is why the sled goes on the trailer daily. I would rather deal with the launch ramp inconvenience than deal with repairs/insurance.

X2. Even when staying at the Nautical with a cove spot, my boat is trailer each night.
If it looks like a monsoon is coming, I go as far as taking it back to storage at night

My wife and I paddled our outrigger canoes around the island this morning launching out of rotary park. Seen one eucalyptus tree trunk snapped at the base with branches everywhere in the park. Perfectly manicured sand but sea grass everywhere. Water is down a few feet from yesterday too. As stated many boats at the Nautical Inn beached. Sea tow folks are busy at it. Did not see any other notable damage around the island or in the channel. Thank Goodness. Spoke with one guy beached on the rocks by the marina near the Nautical. Said he tried to ride it out in Thompson bay but the wind was too much. Both his drives were buried. Sea Tow guys did a great job getting his boat back in the water. Crazy night.

Took the golf cart around this morning, but didn't see that one. A guy over here in Old Park lost a big awning that was only a few months old. Most of it ended up on top of houses the next street over. Feeling bad for the guy he worked his ass off on that awning

Parker people be on the lookout for Rico. Camper got caught in the storm and was pulled from the water but could not find his dog. The mud was so bad searchers could not even get to upper sandbar to look.

Not to be a dick here, but if you know a storm is coming, wouldn’t you pull your boat out of the water?
It came late and I don't think there was any early predictions of stormy weather.
The storm was mostly east and south of city. Quite typical actually.
This storm just swelled and pushed over the mountains. For the first hour the wind howled out of the east(directly at Nauticals open shore) then shifted to a more southerly direction.

My wife got a few these popping up on facebook yesterday.

These were posted all over the park here at the Landing yesterday.

My phone showed rain last week when I checked. Got alerts back home several times starting at 8 until 330am.
