That is too bad. What was the cause? The drive not raised up? When we bought our boat the gentlemen had to take a minute to recall the use of the trailer button for the drive. At the time I had no idea so I am glade that he remembered. It is one of my worries when retrieving. I have to remind the wife and son each time as I hook it up. So far so good. 👍

Loud stereo, loud wife or too many drinks?

I once had a trailer brake that froze up, and I dragged the tire for about 500’. It left a heck of a mark, and destroyed the tire. My friend’s now-ex was literally talking non-stop and so loud that I couldn’t hear or feel a damn thing. I remember at the time just wishing she’d shut up, and kinda wanting to toss her out of the truck. 😂

I don’t want to sound like an asshole, but she poisoned herself to death with alcohol and I guarantee nobody misses her. 😳

I’m going to assume they couldn’t get the trim up due to a mechanical failure. And they prob saw no other choice.

On the way home from Parker to Cave Creek ( all 2 lane desert road) we noticed an RV in the oncoming lane about a mile out with a cloud behind it. A minute it later it blows past us doing 70 mph pulling a SXS trailer with only 1 tire. The mark in the pavement went on for the next 15 miles.

Your lucky. I’ve had the same thing happen to me but on the highway. Drum got so hot it burned off all the grease till the bearings gave out. Lost the entire wheel and I didn’t know where.

I was at the boat launch last summer on my golfcart and saw too dudes with an older Carrera on the ramp, they were attempting to remove the trim rams from the back of the boat, I watched for a minute thinking that their trim pump went out or something, then they trimmed it down a little to try to loosen the tension apparently, thats when my curiosity got the best of me and I went over to see what was going on...they said they just bought the boat and was their first time taking it out but that the drive wouldn't come up all the way when trying to pull it out of the water...I asked if they used the trailer button on the throttle lever...as soon as I saw the look on their face, I knew they missed that...went over and pushed it for them and they watched the drive go all the way up....they acted like I was some kind of master mechanic or something....lol

Maybe it was this guy?

A boat driver on Lake Wausau rammed his boat up a landing area at a high rate of speed before fleeing a west side park, witnesses said Sunday. Video obtained by Wausau Pilot & Review shows an unidentified boat driver driving across the water and directly onto the boat landing ramp late Sunday afternoon at D.C. Everest Park, 1800 S. Third Ave. Wausau. Witnesses say the boat driver climbed out of the boat and left the scene. Multiple empty beer cans were left scattered on the floor of the boat. No one was injured at the boat landing. Violations of boat landing regulations can result in fines of up to $5,000.

I don't have a trailer button. It's kind nice and also kinda you can take out your U-joint in a NY minute if you are not paying attention

My boat sits so high on the trailer that with the drives all the way down they’re still like a foot off the ground or more.

Nah. It’s actually clean. Just a shit show of jet skis in the summer but perfect for me to do a quick rip during the week.

That sucks. Bet the wife was nagging all day.
Lol. Did it once. For about a foot. Lol.
You don't do it twice. Made a checklist after that.

Guilty...! Not this time, but to the point where it's my wife's sole job to remind me to trim - she'll be the one at the ramp yelling "did you remember to do the thingy to the thingy...?" I've become quite skilled over the years at installing the aftermarket SS skeg shields. This is why I stay sober (on the h2o...).

Hasn't happened in a couple years, but the last time was a guys trip with my A-list buddies who are B-list boaters (yup, no wife...!), so retrieval is all on me. Got the truck, backed down the ramp, trailered the boat, got in the truck, started pulling and noticed the drag, thought it must be slipping on the wet ramp, did what any skilled boater would do and put the truck in 4WD...

Customer stated.. 2" and 1/4". Neither of you should ever open a machine shop lol
I have no idea WTF your talking about… but I took the pictures, it’s a skeg mark, it’s a 1/4” wide 🙄

And No, I don’t own a machine shop 😉
