Holy shit, I need this so bad. The olady is a total buzz kill r/n. I just seen it on the insta, and I can believe the price for what it is. I didn’t call on it, I’m sure it’s gone already.

172,000 miles Lets not go. 😁
If you’ve owned jeeps, you’d understand. Show me any vehicle that has a/c, seats four, has four low, and lockers, put a boat in the water, do 70 on the freeway, and will only go up in value, for under $15k. Now, all things being equal, and it is mechanically sound. I was looking at getting one of those sic ass four door hard top side by sides. Those bastards are $45k and up! And only going down in value, and has nowhere near the duty cycle or capability of a tj. Of course biased. Ive owned two TJs, and two CJs. Oh. Maybe that’s it. I’ve owned too many jeeps.

Yeah I get it, Im on Jeep number 8 myself. My old renegade was on the cover of 4 Wheeler. Just a shit ton of miles but if turn a wrench well and have the patience it might be ok.

Anyone of you tj nerds ever score a rubihara LJ? My jeep enthusiast buddy restores and flips tj's very tastefully, he told me about those rubihara LJ'S.

The LJ is the holy grail. If I could find one that is super clean for a realistic price, I’d be in. Every one wants 30-40k for them though.

yea, that would be my weak spot too.

I've always wanted one, and should have bought one when they were reasonable.

Nice mall crawler. 🤣 🤣 🤣

I have this built Jeep and was going to sell it as I don't use it as much as I should. Then I took it out for a little run the other day and decided to keep it.

As far as Jeeps vs SXS's, I have both. A Yamaha YXZ three pedal with sequential shifter. They both have advantages and I use them differently. The Jeep is better for crawling being on 37's with lockers, can be driven anywhere (although where I live I can drive the SxS all over), while the SxS is fast and is a blast to haul butt around dirt roads and trails. With the manual trans, it's like driving a rally car.

At this price point, it’s somewhere in between the 700 rhino and the first GEN razors. Perfect to leave at the river just so I can use it to go to the desert bar run errands launch the Schiada, etc. Yeah, a Robbie Gordon speed car would kick its ass. So a trophy truck. So would a dirtbike, so would everything else. But for 12 grand? Hard to beat for what it’s going to do.

I see you are unfamiliar with the finer things in life - Toyota Landcruisers.

edit; I'm joking, I've seen pictures of your boat (boats?), I know you have good taste. A landcruiser is like a Schiada

They are all over FB marketplace for under $30k. I considered an LJ for a few seconds. There is a really nice silver one for sale out in Indio area on facebook. Gotta stay true to my roots though, so I will be buying an 80 series Toyota Landcruiser.

So are you getting it? Was ready to call on it for my daughter’s first ride. The miles a bit scary but she’d only be doing a 6 mile round trip.

Yeah, I’m going down this afternoon. I’ll report back. The miles don’t bother me at all, if it makes oil pressure, and don’t use coolant. It’s gonna sit next to my fifth wheel, and get maybe a 100 miles a year put in it.

Dude the Land Cruisers are totally the Schiada of old ass tricks. The price they want for those things is beyond retarded. However, I am just the kind of guy that would pay it. Because I do stupid shit, and I’m retarded.

LOL 3 ‘97 Landcruisers too all triple locked and an H1.

Never should have sold the last 97. AZ truck with 60k miles when I sold it in 2013 - idiot! 😁

I don't know if there is any interest on here, but I'm getting ready to sell my 1987 Jeep MJ comanche. Upgraded axles with lockers. Just need to finish the paint and interior. $5500

Those Comanches are bad ass. My brother had one when I was younger. The thing wheeled incredibly well for what it was. I need to get four drunk bastards to the desert bar, and in that thing I would likely have to ride in the back., It’s not that I’m opposed to that. It’s just my old lady will be hitting all the jumps and bouncing the shit out of me because, that’s just how it would go.

I have been a 40 series guy forever, but pursuing my first 80 series (highly modified, I want to use & abuse it). I finally came to the realization I stopped exploring off-road because I can't reasonably take my two dogs with me. My best friend has had an 80 series for 15 years, and he finally got me to see the light. My future will look like this:

I paid 10K for this during the Covid out of Havasu, only had 65K miles on it. I've since geared it, lockers, and wheels. I bought this secretly behind the wifes back cause she would have shit a brick if I asked.
When she rolled out to the River and I broke the news she was pleasantly pleasant, she took it on 1 trail ride and fell in love with it. I don't even think I'm allowed to sell it if I wanted.

Thank you, I appreciate that. It is a fun little truck with the 4.0 6 cylinder and a 5 speed manual 456 gears.

which lockers are in it?

and assuming D35 rear axle???

That thing is sweet, but I want the six speed.
I thought 2005's were 5 speeds. The 6 speeds are notorious for grinding going into reverse and popping out, and the fix is the same price as a new transmission. After a year of dealing with it, my son swapped the 6 speed for a 5 speed in his LJ and loves it!

I’ve had 11 (maybe more I don’t remember) and I had 2 LJ‘s. I sure wish I hadn’t sold either one. Put a lunch Bo’s locker on one of them with 35’s and the last one I left alone with 33’s. Both lifted 4”. Wife wanted a 4 door so bought one but it wasn’t a rubicon so traded it on a rubicon. Why I don’t know, but that’s what she wanted. Never took that one anywhere needed the lockers. So when I bought the Gladiator I wasn’t going to spend another 10-15k for a Rubi. This was while she was going through chemo so she said not to lift it or put big tires on it. After she passed this summer, I didn’t have to ask permission or forgiveness so AEV 2.5 lift and 35’s warn winch and LoD bumper appeared.
