Some people have made a good amount on their boats the last few years. Even if they purchased new lol

ive herard this about new boats as well but I have to wonder if it’s just the ballers that order big dollar new custom boats with long lead times (MTI, Mystic, etc.) and then flip them to other ballers (within a year or two) who don’t want to wait. Hard To imagine this occurring with say a new Sea Ray, Rinker, Bayliner or other production boat that you could buy off the showroom floor.

I think custom boats no doubt. Production was prob harder to make money on unless you bought early on in Covid before the boom.

Signs are pointing that the wakeboat market is cratering here in my AO. I'm seeing a pile of late model stuff up for sale and just stagnant. There is one guy trying to sell his '22 NXT for $130K with 300 hours on it and 2 ads later is the same exact boat as a new '23 holdover for sale at $106k which is nearly $60k off MSRP.

The pontoon market appears headed the same direction. Poor bastards are really going to feel the pain me thinks...

Eliminator has an 18-24 mo backlog. With new/bigger models coming out and improvements on the current Speedster bottoms in the last year current owners are probably ordering new ones and putting their current boats on the market.
