My buddy and I were at the auction today and found a nice 26 Jayco trailer.

The only issue was a missing sofa that was on the side with the slide. However, we noticed a large set of wires that were disconnected and no one can tell us what they were for. The stereo and TV were on the other side and there was no sign of any controls having been mounted to eh wall near by. Even the auction was stumped?

Hmmm battery tender/ invert? That door to the outside means it could be just about anything.

how many wires are there and what color are they?

What does your RV have? maybe its missing something.

Need to know where the wires are going to/from.........

If I had to guess, I'd say the previous owner had a home stereo unit that used the 120v (white wire and that they go to another 120v source) and the multi colored went to speakers that he set outside the trailer. All of it is closeby that exterior mini-door.............

It ain't factory and it ain't code but hey.................it's my guess!

All something to consider. Think I will check Craigslist for an electric RV sofa. ;)

I do know the unit already has a full stock stereo wired with outside speakers stock. The wire loom ran out and under the coach next to the stock light wiring. Once it went back under the coach I could trace i any longer as it jsut ran up into the floor with the other stock loom.

How about chasing the white (romex) 120v? Does the box have a receptacle that we can't see?

Again, my vote is home audio cause the factory stuff is junk if'n ya wanna really jam!

All the factory stuff was all in place and hooked up. The wires were not at a place where there would have been room for a system of any kind

LOOKS LIKE IT WAS TO A SLIDE OUT FLAT SCREEN TV..

That looks like the wiring to my solar panels. I had to run 110v to it for the back-up battery charger and by-pass the factory battery charger. Go look up on the roof and see if you can see the wires coming out.:D

I was gonna say...put 120 volts on it and go grab any loose wires you find.

I see you already tried this, but until you can trace all of the wires you probably won't be able to tell what they are for. Just cover them up when you go to sell this one.. ;)

Could it be for the Heater

Yeah, if there was a couch there, it could be for a reading lamp, or a beer light. Look for a hole in the wall where something was hung.
If there was no couch there, it could be for anything, tanning bed, power to swivel a sat dish, space heater, extra a/c, washer/dryer.

Yeah, but I've already proven my stupidity. Everyone has always said what a fucking idiot you were, and I guess I was a little slow to believe it.:bash:

Gees Rick everybody knows it takes 220 single phase to run those.

More than likely just a CPAP hook up:D

The 115V is probable tied into the lamp above.
