I am still confused on how car participant pays $40.entry fee, I have to fuel this thing up and get it there sit there for hours listening to stupid comments ....My car
has no class to even enter. I pay the entry fee no prob if it is a good cause .

I’ve only known of one show ever that the entry fee wasn’t for a good cause. That’s the only way I will support it. The biggest motivating factor for me in attending car shows is to see other cars and spend time with friends. I don’t pay attention to classes or care about the awards aside from the NHRA award that get’s you free entry. 🙂

I’m only stating my motivation.

Whats the performance category ?
Basically any muscle or performance car. There's only one award, so were not being overrun, it's still a hot rod show. Last year a Panoz roadster took the honor.

Getting harder to fill the shows? I will agree that we’re losing out old timers but the shows in SoCal are still thriving. We have Riverside Show N’ Go in 2 weeks with well over 1000 cars hosted by the Old Farts Racing Team car club.

The Quarantine cruise is another good example of thriving participation and a younger crowd of older classic cars. 👍
Per capita Havasu has a lot of Hot rods, but we can't compete with dozens of towns in SoCal within a hundred miles. We're not critical, but it's getting harder to find shows with much more than a couple hundred cars. Even Run to the Sun was over 600 cars I believe, but a couple hundred shy of their record. I also feel it's only logical to raise the acceptable years once in a while. I think the surge in popularity of new performance cars is why some shows have included a few, certainly don't want any hot rod show to become a Mustang, Vette, Charger or tuner show.

I don’t have a solution for you. In fact, I don’t think I’ve been to Havasu 10 times.

I will say, I don’t think most mid 70’s to mid 80’s cars get much respect from the performance and Hot Rod car community. That era brought dismal performance as well as the not so aesthetically pleasing 5 mph bumpers. Smog laws (at least in California) have also made it difficult to modify these as well as later cars.

The wonderfully performing modern muscle cars imo lack in 2 big ways -> Styling changes and rarity. The classics of old were redesigned every 2 to 3 years. The newer cars' "throwback" styling was inspired by late 60's/and (Challenger) 1970 cars. These newer cars (which are cool) have only received moderate styling changes since 2005 for the Mustang, 2008 for the Challenger and 2010 for the Camaro. I don't think they're included in most classic cars shows because they're a dime a dozen. They can be seen at dealerships and intersections anywhere you go.

Sorry, not very clear. What I'm saying is, a car show in let's say Ontario Ca. will pull from dozens of towns within a 50 mile radius, and that population will probably be in the millions. My comment was in regard to having a little bit of a problem filling car shows in Havasu.

Ok yes that is very true ..... Havasu is pretty much an island out here. Still pretty cool all the nice cars I do see here, these guys look like they're all having a such a good time with their car buddies at these local shows. I'm always looking for something to buy and almost did at the Havasu 95 show but have to clear out a couple things first taking valuable space .... lol

I just got into it a couple years ago myself, bought something basically completed, although they're never really done. ;) If you pick up something and want to try the club scene check out Havasu Classics, we definitely need to expand. It's a family friendly club and we put on the Veterans show in November for Anderson Chrysler and are trying to get back to doing our spring show in late February.

I talked to Dustin for about 15 minutes on Friday. Great guy with an awesome ride!
Oh that’s cool. Dustin is a family friend and yes, a great kid. Larry was in a Mopar club with his dad back in the 70’s.

My cousin was next to Dustin with her orange Super Bee 🐝.

“Mrs..”

Yes Sir! I'm looking forward to it! :)

Here's the video I shot this weekend. Dustin and your Cousin are both in it. Can you forward the link to them?

Oh man! We were in Riverside this weekend ~ would have loved to have gone. ☹️

Larry had a Roadrunner and a Charger, so he’s really gonna be bummed he missed it.

Thanks for posting up the AWESOME
Show n Go video. My cousin & her daughters along with Dustin appreciated it.

Those Caddies @ around 4:43 were MY FAVORITES this year. They were bad ass!!!

Wheeler Ray has the market cornered on boating pics but you Sharp Shooter are doing the cars justice.

Here’s the flyer for our friend’s show for anyone who wants to bring their car out.

Bring your chairs, bring your cooler, check out the cars and listen to the band.

For fans of trucks
At the Fairplex this Saturday and Sunday. $20 and $17 to park.
We went today for my son’s birthday. A lot smaller than the Roadster show. Only 2 buildings and some stuff outside. Small but still had super nice trucks. It was sprinkling when we first got there but cleared up.
