Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax, " said the night man,
"We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave! "

I have been suggesting for years all the way back to old HB days that someone make a Forum Suicide Forum where it automatically starts a new thread with "Dear Cruel Posters of (HB) RDP:"

I'm 68 years of age and stupid.So stupid that 25 years ago I bought a boat Bruce Nescher built and have enjoyed every minute of it and looking for many more. 23' Sleekcraft -TWIN 454 - Hooked up to TWIN PANTHER JETS.MY point I guess, is the stupid thing yesterday cut a little deep and I will never believe Steve deserved the bullshit that went down this week-end or this morning for that matter.Seems we might have all learned from a screwed up thread and can carry on.I would like to stick around and enjoy the site.:thumbsup
So, what you're trying to say is....you're a two pump chump?

MY point I guess, is the stupid thing yesterday cut a little deep and I will never believe Steve deserved the bullshit that went down this week-end or this morning for that matter.

I tend to think that when people get both barrels like that they had it coming. I think that maybe people have been saving it up for a long time, so the ferocity of the breaking point came as a surprise to everyone.

I don't think anyone knew how deep that particular well was before dipping in the buckets.

You are in the distant minority of people who think that Steve is being put-upon in this situation. The primary contentious... actually, the only contentious parties are ones with personal and business experience with him, and all tell separately a very similar series of stories.

I'm not much for conspiracies, and I believe where you see smoke you are probably going to find something burning.

I haven't had a horse in the race with exception of ensuring that actual lies told about friends of mine came to light, and that the truth had a means of being revealed. I think that much has been laid bare, and now I just want to make sure nobody gets shot over this horseshit.

I also think that the police should have been involved weeks ago. IF the situation has been developing on the side the way it appears to have been, I would have filed for a restraining order against him after the bar blow up. He has already mentioned that he is packing heat ever since people have been "stalking him" so we know he's armed... and not being stalked. Bad combination.

You know I haven't exactly taken any sides what so ever in this whole deal. I know Dave and I've met Steve a couple times and also talked with him on the phone. Dave is, well Dave and Steve is definitely a unique individual but ive never had a bad experience with him. I truly hope this isn't true about him packing. No one is stalking him.

Wes,without going into a lot of detail,something you are very good at and i'm not good at I believe if everything you indicate is in fact true YES the police should be called into this.My point at the start of this is Steve is a radical eccentric at the least.If someone is in danger here I want nothing to do with it. Period.

Agreed.

If I was Dave, and again I stress that IF it went down as advertised... my only post would be that I can't discuss anything due to an ongoing investigation.

How long, and how much BS does an owner of a business have to take, before the customer gets run off?

I'm ok with Riverdaves decisions.

2FF brought this whole incident into the public eyes, during a gathering at the Flying X. Dave took over from there.:eek

This was an interesting thread as well: http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/showthread.php?36220-WHO-THINKS-HAVASU-HANGIN-IS-A-DICK :D

Gotta disagree with this Wes. Steve isn't that guy. He's not packing heat worrying about being stalked. I've spent a lot of time with the guy and I've never seen a firearm. Never not seen him extend his hand to shake another guys hand either. Never seen any paranoid traits in person.

I think it's time to let it go Wes. With all due respect, as i consider you a friend, let it die please.

Jeffrey Dahmer was having dinner with his mom when she commented, "Jeffrey, I really don't like your friends." Jeffrey replied, "Then just eat the salad."

Fuel was about .70 gal when new,$50 a day with a lot of skiing was ok.Today about $200 to run the same is expensive nostalgia.My wife will have to sell it someday,me,never.I would have liked nothing better than to own a Trident,we all followed the effort Wes.:thumbsup

Money devalues by roughly 50% every 10 years. It's a rule of thumb.

That means, your $200 tank of fuel, indexed for inflation using the rule of thumb, would look like this:

2013 -> $200 = $200 in 2003 dollars
2003 -> $200 = $100 in 2003 dollars
1993 -> $200 = $50 in 2003 dollars
1988 -> $200 = $35.00 in 2003 dollars

Indexing for inflation is meaningless when you're retired. You want the lowest inflation possible because inflation consumes the nest egg. The point, however, is that your boat is no more unreasonable to drive today than it was in 1988. I'll bet you were a two income household and made good money when you had that boat built.

Beautiful boat, by the way. :) :thumbsup

Wouldn't I have to leave in order to either come back or not come back?

I'm just not qualified to make this decision........so I'll just not leave...

Threatening to leave has been around for over 10 years. I recall a bunch of people threatening it, way back when.

I'm pretty sure I'm the first to make fun of it, back in 2001/2002, or so. I was arguing with someone and wrote in, "This is my last post and I will not be returning to this site." My next response, I wrote, "OK, one more post but this is it. I'm done." ... and I continued with that type of comment at the end of my posts while posting whenever the mood hit me. I didn't even slow down.

By the second post, I was receiving PMs asking that I reconsider leaving, etc. By about the 15th post, someone sent me a PM saying something to the effect, "Dude, if you're going to leave just do it. Don't keep saying you're going to do it. That's dumb."

Good times. For sure.

No. Sleekcraft was made in Los Nietos (about 6 blocks from my home) and SKVs were manufactured in Covina (or West Covina) just over the hill from each other. Guessing that Dave's Sleek was made here before the move to Havasu.

Those roadrunner trailers that Swpr is sporting are stout too. I've seen two golf carts smash into pieces after T boning the same RR trailer at Lost Lake years ago. The paint didn't show one scratch after both collisions/lol.

I thought a retiree does not care about the inflation rate, he cares about the risk free rate of return being higher than the inflation rate. If the inflation rate is 3.5% and the risk free rate of return is 25 basis points, like it is today, retirees are going backwards. They would much rather have 6% inflation and a 7% risk free investment rate. But what do I know? :D

I'm hanging around for Canadian investment advice....
