A RDP member asked me to post this:

Wife said I was growing another chin,, so I signed up for Nutrisystem.
Food tastes good but you can't argue taste,, that's just my preference.
Losing 2 to 3 lbs a week.

Tried Jenny Craig,, sucked, really sucked. Wife has never had a bad meal, nor even a bad day in her life and though slender, she finished the Jenny Craig order. Probably lost 5 lbs she didn't need to lose.

Ya have to do something physical every day to break a sweat for it to work.
I miss being skinny.

Anyone else shedding pounds?

Yes I'm working on it too. Been going to the gym 7 days a week. My 50th is just after Desert Storm so I figured that was a good goal timeframe to get where I want. I really cut back on the calories at dinner. I'm about 10lbs from my goal weight of 275 so I should be able to make it.

Sportin' Wood has lost nearly #30 in the past year. A little over 15% of his body weight. He switched to N/A beer, runs between 3-7 miles a couple of times a week, and practices intermittent fasting. He's pretty hot for 52! 😍

I've been working on it a little. Been struggling the last month. I've been sick almost the entire time and I eat when I'm sick.....
In the last 6 months I was down almost 20 lbs but the holidays gained some back. I'm struggling to get back on track every since.

Not happy with myself currently.

Portion control is my nemisis. What I eat could be better but is very reasonable. Just the portions are out of control.

The cool thing about these lose weight food programs like Nutrisystem for most people is you lose your appetite after a few weeks. Food still tastes good, but the cravings and hunger and food thoughts are gone. Read that: for most people like myself.

The longer you are on it the easier it gets. Way easier.

Three mens programs, I signed up for the middle one. Don't need the shakes and motivation literature the top program offers.

I had 50% of the walk in closet when we married, I'm down to 10% space mostly because I didn't fit into clothes on my side. "Lucky I have any room in there at all."

Nutrisystem comes in more compact, better packaging than Jenny Craig. The frozen items better packed, arrived frozen solid too.

Turned 64 in July, 6’1 225 for the last 20 years, reasonably active, I average 10000 steps /day on my iphone counter. Was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in September. Absolutely no history in my family, not a snacker, eat 3 squares a day and try my best to get 6-7 hours of sleep. Completely took sugar out of my diet, reduced my portion size by 30-50 % started snacking with veggies and other things that arent Cheeto’s and chips and lost 30 lbs in 6 months. To this point I havent had to take any meds for the diabetes and I still prick my finger a few times a week just to be sure I’m OK. Doc says at some point in my life I may or may not have to take pills or maybe even inject insulin but I’m going to do my level best to avoid both!

Maynard,, has to eat extra meals to keep weight on.
Our adult girls size 00 slender, 95 lbs and they eat anything they want.
In their teens they had to shop at Victoria's Secret, the only place with jeans and some other clothing in their size.

I lost 60 lbs in 5 months about 4 years ago by cutting out carbs, no exercise - no grains, breads, chips, desserts, cookies, carby vegetables like potatoes and most squashes, fruits have a lot of carbs so I cut most of those out, no ice cream, mostly meats, cheeses and salads. I gave back into temptation and started eating pizza, Mexican food, Chinese food with rice, burgers with buns because protein burgers suck! After about 2 years I put back on about 20 lbs. and tried going back on that diet again, but I was so sick of eating chicken and salads, in 3 and a half months I only lost 5 lbs so I threw in the towel and got a burrito. I put back on another 10 lbs last year and need to do something again. I don't smoke, drink more than a couple of beers a week, if that, or do weed or other mind benders, but I do enjoy my food.

Im so tired of being fat. Last month i inquired about gastric bypass and the band surgery. Going through a 6 month process that includes dietary consultations, healthy eating classes, psych classes. I have already made some changes to my diet but this 6 month wait cant go fast enough. Surgery hopefully in august!

I'm down 30 lbs since the beginning of the year. My doc told me my blood sugar was at 135, but at 140 insurance would pay for meds. I rarely get sick and the only meds I take are for asthma. Wife is an RN and she laid down the law, I was going to lose weight and lower my blood pressure starting NOW.
Cutting out carbs as much as possible while only eating between 1 pm and 6pm. Honestly it has been pretty painless as I don't much like most vegetables anyway. I allow myself an occasional cheat day but I now look at the calorie content of food too. It seems even a little pizza or potato is just not in the cards for me any longer.
Last week we went to New Orleans. We arrived at 5 pm on Tuesday and left at noon on Thursday. I came back 6 lbs heavier. Makes me wonder what 3 weeks in Europe this May is going to do to me.

I had some unexpected leg blood clots and multiple pulmonary embolisms that I ignored for a couple months until I had to go to ER for debilitating chest pain. Thought I was just being a wimp working out here on the rv park.
This happened 2 months ago.
No cause found, but my weight had ballooned up to 205 at 6ft. So I cut alcohol, sugar, most processed foods and started watching portions and eating more fruits and vegetables. Dropped 12lbs so far, trying to get under 180lbs. I turn the big 55 in a few weeks, getting older sucks.

Lost a little over 20 lbs. since November.
Called it quits on the sauce program, that's been the biggie.
Would like to shed another 30 so I'm just ugly, and no 'Fat & Ugly'.

Unfortunately, I’m not dropping any weight but i have been on a very consistent workout routine since after Thanksgiving. Working out 4-5 days a week all lifting. We have a family workout contest/text thread. It keeps me going. I can’t stand to lose so I’ll run out and get a workout in whenever i can. Strength feels good, just gotta cut the junk/beer out. Turns out that’s easier said than done.

Actually in the middle of my leg/back/core workout now.

Been following a guy who is doing 100 day McDonalds challenge, just to show people its about portion not what you eat or how much you work out. even backs it with blood work. His deal is he eats half of anything and everything he orders. 3 times a day.

That’s pretty much what Nutrisystem is. Portion size.

Last year, new years day, I started weight watchers. Dec 31 I was down 40lbs. My problem is portion control so by counting points I reduced portions. Now 3 1/2 months into this year I'm getting hungry and added 12 back on. Gotta get serious and drop more again. I wish I had knees that would allow me to get physical again

I'm young but try to stay in shape as best i can. Being in construction and having two babies makes getting to the gym harder now a days. I've always been up or down 10-20lbs but never considered myself terribly overweight. After covid and my first kid I was at my heaviest weight and nothing seemed to work to get it off. I cut out all carbs and dropped 20lbs pretty quick but eating just meat and cheese gets old fast. The past few months I've been doing OMAD (one meal a day) at dinner time and have shed 10-15lbs pretty quick. Alot of people think only eating one meal a day is insane but honestly its pretty simple if your busy at work. My hardest days are the weekends when I'm home because theres always a snack to have and my kids are constantly eating. I'm like most and my problem is portion control but with OMAD its not bad because my dinner meal is anywhere from 1500-2000 calories and I'm still shedding weight. It probably sounds crazy but after a week or so it isn't hard. As long as you don't eat you really don't feel hungry

If anyone is in the chino area i use a great personal trainer. Went from 220 to 160 tracking macros and working out consistently. I track all my meals using my fitness pal and use a food scale when meal planning. Its amazing how easy it is to hit 3000 or 4000 calories in a day if you eat the wrong stuff.

Over the holidays, I was up to 266.
Most recent weigh in was at 254. Still need to lose 20+ lbs more.
Volume of intake is way down.

I dropped below 230 for the first time in 25 years last week. In the last 24 months I've lost 68 lbs. Dunno why I got so fat. Well, actually I do. I was eating huge bowls of ice cream and platefuls of snacks while in bed reading.

Ten more pounds and I'll weigh what I did in 1989 when I met my wife. Of course back then I had significant muscle mass from hitting the gym three times a week. Now I'm a flabby old man with a bit of a potbelly.

That's what Jeff does, but his meal is closer to lunch time.

I don't understand people who peddle that shit...that guy is a clown.
Dirt has more nutrients than anything at McDonald's.
Your body needs nutrients...period.
As far as losing weight without exercise.
The heart is a muscle that will atrophy without some sort of exercise.
You can die skinny of heart disease.
People don't get fat overnight.
People don't get skinny overnight.
Any diet diet that doesn't include a modicum of physical activity is worthless.
Don't mean to go off on a tangent but jeez There's some stupid shit being peddled to overweight people looking for an easy quick fix.

So you bulk up all winter, as getting close to summer you start cutting.
That's when Clenbuterol comes in

Yes. This. Turn 40 this year. I’m active, in construction, we boat. We ride. Up down 15 here and there. Drink more beers than I should, live a good life…. It’s all about food. I quit eating everything I see cause it looks good, lost 12 pounds in about a month. If I dropped beer I’m sure another 10, trying to hit under 200. At 209 right now.

The 60lbs I've lost has all been portion control and not parking my ass on the couch after work. I literally eat 1/4 of what I used to eat at each meal. If I ditched the beer I'd drop the last 20 way faster. Definitely need to get back to they gym and get back on that routine.

Really changed our diet a few years ago when the wife was diagnosed with Celiac. Now we pretty much only eat clean. Very little processed food. I cook balanced meals every night. Cut my beer in half and the beer gut is almost gone. 5'9 and 175-180.

After watching a ton of YouTube videos including Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson I figured I'd try Carnivore. It peaked my interest and out of curiosity I figured why not. Low carb diets seem to work well for me overall and this wasn't a huge change. I've been on it for 17 days so far. Overall I feel really good, no bloating, clear minded, increased energy, better sleep, and almost zero hunger. This way of eating completely killed all mid-day cravings, its weird because I'm a guy would would snack too much at work throughout the day. Now nothing at all. I have a small meal around 10 am and dinner at 6pm give or take. I love to BBQ and grill so that seems to work out for me. I know its not something I'll stick with forever but I'm committed to completing March with ZERO carbs or alcohol. I'll be report back in April. To date 17 days, 15 pounds down.

So 58 yo 5'10" 225 lbs and a beer baby = started working out last august and have gained muscle but have not lost much weight. I started cardio/stationary bike two months ago and quit drinking beer and I am hoping to get my summer body this summer..
Hard to lift and diet at the same time.

I did that once and it was amazing. Rode my bicycle for 4 or 5 miles a day as well. Worked great.

I have lost 80, maybe 90 lbs recently. The oncologist told me it would happen. Enjoy every moment.............................
I only have two strips each morning😄
and.....Egg whites with bacon bits, shrooms, onion & cheese omelet.
Still maintain 80% of the 100+lbs I lost 5 or so years ago

I put myself on basically the same food choices you used. I don’t like the F’n word ‘diet’. Food choice sounds better. But, I spread those food choices over about 18 months. I also lost about 60 pounds with no exercise. I’m a foodie, love all meat, cheese and salads. So, that regime was easy for me. Later 2022, I had gained back about 10 lbs over a 4 month period. I was eating everything and drinking beer. Back to the lo/no carbs food choices and those 10 lbs gained went away in about 6 weeks without exercise.

We’re all different in many ways. Age, frame, motab etc. I knew I was cruising around way too heavy.
