Wife’s final cancer surgery, second surgery this week, they wanted her in at O dark O ‘clock.

Normally I’d head to the Pantry for breakfast to wait it out but it’s no a longer a 24/7 diner. Now a 5 day week with bankers hours.

So I’ll wait it out and it’ll be a week or two of recovery.

Who’s up all night getting’er done?

Dang. Sorry to hear it. Hope things turn out okay.

I’m up but, I get up early. Use to go the the pantry after clubbing it until 2 back in the day. Didn’t know they were no longer 24/7.

Canters is still 24/7 dine in on the weekends and for take out, then 6am-11:30pm dine in during the week. Not sure if pacific dining car will return, but that was my go to late night spot forever. New York still rolls 24/7, LA lost its mojo. Best wishes on your wife’s recovery.

Thanks everyone.
Close friend, the guy that bought me the cool firearm for doing him a favor, got a phone call from his wife’s doctor at Cedars.

She had one breast removed and reconstructed, and the phone call was informing him they did the wrong breast.

I’ll get more details on that FU’p.

I kid you not. On the level.
Evidently they are going to bill them for both surgeries.

I’ll remember that. Thanks.
Miss the Pantry. Kinda gone to the tourists. Not so much for the locals anymore.

Best wishes going out for the surgery and hoping it is non eventful with a great outcome.

I am sure she has the best care possible.

Pretty sure she has a positive mindset which is important as you know.

Not up all night, not anymore. My body has told me "No!". Asleep by 2 or 3, then up at 5:30-6 to get ready to take the youngest to school. Brain goes Mach 5, but like tires on ice.

Haven't thought of the Pantry in years. Was the best place to eat before hitting a jobsite in town🐷

I hope your wife's still taking the bull by the horns, and rolling hard. I hope things are going as best can be.

Was in your shoes 5 years ago. Best to the Mrs and her recovery. Be sure to take care of yourself. If you have trouble sleeping at night take naps as needed. Things are stressful during these times. You got this!!!!!

She is in our thoughts and prayers, Ross.
The other screw up you mentioned...holy crap. Gonna chrge for both surgeries? Ya. Talk about great for the jury in the malpractice case.
SMH...

My almost a brother back in Knoxville had knee replacement a couple years ago, and it simply was not geting any better...docs kept telling him more therapy, etc. 6 months later (right after the malpractice window closes apparently) they told him they put the WRONG SIZE upper part of the knee in him.
Looking at the xray you and I after a dozen beers could see it was way too damn big.
Anyway they had to go in again, break his leg above the orginal fix, and replace the replacement.

I told him he needs a damned attorney....

Shame about Pacific Dinning Car. I worked downtown and had been going there for years. If you were attending a concert or game, you could eat there, shuttle to the event and then shuttle back after to pick up your car. It was great.

The entire inside of the restaurant was actioned off on line. I bid on a few of the items for nostalgic reasons but was unsuccessful.

I had heard they were going to open an online operation at the time but I’ve not seen it. I believe their brick and mortar operation is gone forever.
