A broker has our boat and within a day many offers turned into a bidding war for it.
The offers are twice what I expected, $8K more than we paid for it and rising. The broker says we're good for offers to rise another $20 grand by Tuesday.
I'm just banking the money.
I did mention buying another Wakeboard boat with some of the cash and the wife is on board with that.
Going to kick that idea around.

Only two things she's ever said no to.
I wanted a new Ford Raptor but we have 2 crew cab pickups on the driveway already, so no.
And I want to bring some lesbians in to our sex life and that was a real quick, poker faced no.

So how's the negotiating going for your next purchase?

When my wife readily agrees to things and I'm not expecting her too, it scares me :yikes

I know there's a catch coming, somehow it will end up biting me, why is she being agreeable ?? What is she plotting ?? :eek

My reaction to her agreeing, the instant paranoia, that is her strategy and even knowing it doesn't help :D

The only thing my wife ever says no too is sex, probably because that's the only thing she really has control of. Of course I would gladly trade some of my control for some of her's.:grumble:

It's to keep us guessing, waiting for a slip up.
Dad always told me, we're always in the shit it's just the depth that varies.

Gigi is into Havasu / lake thing and likes go fast boating. Her family is into lake boating so I really do not need to make a hard sell on some of my antics. :D

I am having a hard time with what I am going to do when my M31 sells. I love that boat. The four of us had a great summer on the G23 Nautique. Figure while my body can still take the beating why not... I got the green light for the 1100 SXR Andy01 had. That is a cool toy. Goal for this winter is to get the boys comfortable on their snowboards.

A second P Car. This one is air cooled. '91 911.

If I feel like I have to ask permission its probably not something shes cool with. Although I did ask if it was cool to make a second trip to Germany to participate in an unofficial road rally in two weeks. Just asked if the dates were ok. She says "sure, when you get back I'm off to Cabo..."

Won't lie she controls pretty much everything on the money side. She did give a thumbs up to boat upgrade though.

Wife really never says no to household / family adventure toys. Hell, it is her idea to upgrade the boat stereo this off season (going on 10 season so time to upgrade anyways). However if I go spend $$ on the boat, jeep, 4-wheelers without telling her, I will come home to find me new stuff all over the house.

I want a 2 door Tahoe. The boss said No! So I showed her a lowered Chevy dually diesel. She said yes. I'd rather have the Tahoe but I'm happy either way.

My wife never says no. This last boat we bought, I sent her an email saying "this would be cool". I got a reply an hour later saying "I sent a deposit check just now."

I've never popped the lez question. I'll report back shortly.

Be VERY specific in verbalizing your request.
Just sayin...

After 30 years together I've learned to go with pictures and multiple forms of approval. It's a long process but keeps me from making as many stupid decisions. It's the best way to make sure I keep my stuff and some of my money.

I had a flashback a month or two ago about a little 18' or 19' gullwing.:D I had one back in the late 70's. I asked about it and got the death stare plus the ol' "how old do you think you are". I took that as a major NO.

Several weeks ago my Wife left on a 2 week vacation to Thailand and left me at home with all the kids so I went out and bought another boat, an 18' Ranger for fishing...I still haven't used that damn thing!

On the positive side I did buy property in the U.P. so once I get a dock installed that Ranger should get all kinds of usage up there and it's an older one so the kids can beat on it too :)

Mine said yes to the boat, truck, pwc's and is the one leading the search for a river pad.

I think that's enough yes for a while.

In the mid 90s I ran into a "Deal" on a street legal race car. By the end of the day I'd bought, paid for and registered the thing :D

The first my wife knew was seeing it in the garage when she got home from work :headscratch:

She liked the car, wasn't upset I'd bought it, especially after I'd given my well rehearsed "A deal I couldn't pass on" speech :D

BUT, she was clearly pissed when she learned that the title and registration were in my name only :grumble:

From that day and for the next 9 years I owned it, it was known as "YOUR" car, not "OUR" car :D I offered many times to have it changed, but NO, the damage had already been done, she'd been excluded, there was no coming back.

Fast forward to 2012, once again all on my own I ran into another "Deal" on a new Ford truck. The finance gal kept insisting that I needed to sign the DMV paperwork and my wife could be added later.

I told her no friggin way, I'd drive my old trade-in truck home that night and return tomorrow (Saturday) with my wife to complete signing the papers and pick up the new truck.

Next day when we returned, finance lady is giggling as she explains to my wife how I refused to sign the DMV papers, as if it was frivolous that my wife would be otherwise pissed.

My wife gave her a serious glare and told her right off, that to her, it was extremely serious business :yikes

Story had a very happy ending, wife loved the new truck and my ratings went up substantially :thumbsup :D

you just have to be selective on what you ask...I've never asked my wife to bring another girl home...and she has never asked to bring some swinging dick home...:D:p

I love the 30 yrs with my wife...:thumbsup only wish I have is that I could have married her first
