Pretty cool... The house was built in 1920, it was my wifes uncle's house...she used to go there in the 60's and 70's she's part of the Brown family and they own probley half the town
her great great great grand father was one of the original settlers in the 1800's.... when she said " we're buying that house... it has to stay in the Brown family" I said.... you mean you're buy'n me 3 years of work....lol

My wife's the girl on the right...1960' era

one of the first things I did was enclose the carport and add a garage door...

one interesting fact, the house was built with coral pink sand from the dunes... each brick was hand made, and the foundation is big blocks cut from big sand stone boulders... the house is pretty much as it was in1920 inside... 7' solid wood 7' doors 10' ceilings, wood lat and plaster walls... when it was built there wasn't power or plumbing, so that was added latter ,... the kitchen still has the metal cabinets ... musta been nice hav'n to go out to the out house in the snow.......the house had a coal stoker heater,... but now has a ac/heat pump...

the model T is a 1923, it runs and drives if you know how to start and drive it, nothing like a model A... it's all og but the newer wood bed,... another interesting fact, they used put truck beds on them because of the Gas shortage.... you could only get gas if it was a truck or farm equipment..

of the 3 dummies, the 2 in the car, mable and merl, I'm the one leaning against a antique ford with a bow tie jacket on....

the 2 tractors are 1953 golden jubilee' 100 yr anniversary ford 9n's... both run a drive... some day when I'm gone they might be worth something,... as for now... great yard art

the lady in the pic is my wifes cousin, realtor said when the house went up for sale, she did and open house..... said she cried her eyes out, said it was the most horrible thing thinking that some one from cal was buying the house she lived in for 60 yrs.. we bought it the day it was listed....

on the back yard side of the house, there was a 18 x 35 patio,... but it had no cover.... so I built a cover , and added a 16x 18 smok'n and drink'n cabin... went out to the saw mill and got old scrap ruff sawn wood for the walls....

Kanab is a beautiful little town. Wife kids and I went up there a couple years back. Town moves pretty slow...I really liked it. You seem to be more the "up and running" type. I hope it doesn't beat you up having to downshift.

Nice place, really like what you did with the patio.

Probably could've paid for the house by running the Model T through Barrett-Jackson last week

Awesome.

Love Kanab we always stay at Parry Lodge, movies in the old barn. I always ride around town looking at homes. Some neat history there. Pork chop at the Rocking V.

here's another smok'n deal I got.... the fire place insert.... only 6500 installed... don't know what I was smok'n when I said ok... but happy wife happy life..

View attachment 1328929

Whats the make on that insert? Is that a vermont castings?

Looks like a good job sealing/covering the old structure.

I see Mrs. Steve has you well trained with no wood visible.
