I found out when my oldest was 17, about 17 years ago, the law really doesn't much give a shit. When they turn 17, they may as well be 18 because in real life 99.9% of the time, you ain't gonna find many DA's that will mess with it if they have been openly dating. And rightfully so except in extreme cases involving abuse.

17 years, marriage, 4 kids and they are still together, fairly well offsets the "anguish" of the beginning. All you can do is raise 'em right and rely on them being able to make their own hard decisions....

Talked to the daughter about it last night and she was going over that the guys friend told her that she was supposed to hang out with the BF during lunch instead of her friends since they were "together" and my daughter refused to leave her Gfs.
I explained that it will be tough as she does not want to alienate from her gfs and spend the entire time with him as sooner or later, when this is over she will need her friends to go back to.

So the daughter is 16 already and has steered clear of boys for the most part. She goes to an arts school where most the guys swing the other way.
In a sense, she misses the opportunity to date as she sees her friends dating and thinks a part of her teenage years is missing. She has gone on 2 dates during the day and likes a worker at K1 Speed, but hes 19 and in college which is a little weird but i know we all either dated someone older or younger. I try to do as much as I can with her and be a good friend and someone she can come to without worrying about me being a dick if she slips up a little.
