How long does a box last. Will it update automatically?

I have built a couple of my own kodi boxes back in the day but it always became a pita.

What makes it different?

These boxes don’t run off Kodi anymore. They run off a server in China. They will last until they shut down the internet. 😂
They will also auto update.

They run $225 shipped and they all include a Bluetooth remote now. Also include a few voice activated apps.

I bought a magic box and still haven't used it yet. I tried but just don't have time right now. What do I need to download to get this going once I plug it in?

Plug it in, get it online and hit some things on the remote. It must be really easy, because I was able to do it. It's really pretty cool!

Plug it in and get it going. Very easy setup and there is a video that you can watch first that only is a few minutes long.

My BIL just got one and he is loving it.....initially when you get it you will go down the rabbit hole poking around seeing everything available. The content volume is crazy. After that you will stick to your favorites for the most part.

I think it’s great that some of the people that were the biggest skeptics and shit talkers on these things are now the ones giving the biggest endorsements.. lol

RD

I just bought a box for my wife, I've had one for about 2 years and she hated it at first because "another remote".

Then she found movies she wanted to watch, and shows that were on streaming services we did not have.

I mainly have used it for NFL, but it may soon replace our cable service entirely as spectrum has gone up 50% over the years.

I've seen several posts about this over the years on RDP and am a knuckle dragging 54 YO. We have Xfinity cable internet and cable TV. We have 2 TV's hardwired to Xfinity boxes and 2 Roku boxes on the other two TV's.

Our combined bill for internet and cable TV, rental of boxes etc is about 220.00 per month. before any movie rentals. Wife and I have several streaming services including , Amazon, HULU, Youtube, Netflix and I am sure others my wife has and pays for.

I watch Motor Trend TV, History channel and some other learning type channels and my wife watches the typical wife channels.

We are interested in cutting down the Xfinity bill, but with how we consume media, do these boxes make sense?

My concern is how could I find the channels I like? The Roku is a PITA for me, but I am not tech savvy but can learn to find them if it's easy. Also want to be able to find local news and NFL games.

I didn’t buy this to get rid of any current subscription. I only use it for stuff we pay for doesn’t provide. I’m not buying 6 boxes for every tv in the house.

What's do you get in the premium apps, that you can't otherwise get with limitless?

What's the cost for the premium apps?

I'm pretty rock and chisel when it comes to Electronics and i figured it out, save favorite channels so they are easy to find.

Has anyone put together a complete channel guide?
I never think about what I want to watch and by the time I scroll through the 2000 choices, I passed over it.
I remember we had 4 choices and if there wasn’t something on, I’d go outside. Now there’s too many choices and I go outside.😎😎😎😎

My box didn’t come with any of the apps that showed up on yours. This is all I have on my box.

Has anybody actually tried to calculate how much we have saved since RDP did the first magic box post? I can still remember him posting a video about how to use it and I was so skeptical. Can't even imagine the cost on PPV UFC or boxing alone.

Get on board already.

I’ve saved $1600 in 8 months.
Bought 2 boxes so far.
Between super tv, super VOD, and limitless I can’t imagine needing more apps than those 3.
When you find and locate your normal favorites, mark them as a favorite channel and you’ll never have to “look” for them again.
Both apps live tv have the mark as favorite option.
I have like 20 favorites flagged. (Discovery, nat geo, heros channel, etc)
Just hold the select button down on the channel momentarily and it pops up a “set as favorite” option.
So then when you select the favorite option on super tv or limitless live tv there’s your favorite list.
I’ve had them 8 months now so I’ve got pretty ok at navigating.

How do you access this part with the remote? I press up and I just can’t seem to access that menu.

your OK is the middle. there is an outside ring...thats your arrows to go up-down or left right

Yeah. For some reason the highest I can go is only the top left show. Can’t access the menu. Weird.

On my Firebox which looks similar sometimes I press the left ring to get into the side menu then go the top and then right to what you circled.
Thanks. I’ve tried every which way and just doesn’t seem to work.
