Are those prices in AZ? Can you order online????

I think this is nation wide. I was able to source this off the internet after they told me about the deal. It's not on green mountains website though.

Yea....this same graphic is on their website but with higher prices. Just wondering how to score it locally or online.

Got some salmon smoking right now at 175. Going to let it cook until 4pm and then finish it off with a little higher heat and a glaze.

Dude.....we should have an RDP bbq competition.

I started one going at Echo between the neighbors. Got a lot of people hooked. One neighbor invited me to that Ribs Pigs and Watermelon smoke off in Huntington beach. Lots of great info there. Might have to join there team. They have bomb ass brisket but need a chicken specialist. Did my first chicken last night and it came out amazing. Got Baby backs, pork shoulder and butt mastered on my little smoker. Need to master chicken and brisket.

I bought a Char Broil big easy infared smoker roaster from Lowes. Worked so good bought a second for the river pad. It is cheating in comparison to charcoal but comes out perfect every time.

Just picked up this little guy at Home Depot for $70. Curing it right now. Nothing special but it should do the job until I save up $1800 for the one I really want.

Looks like it takes up a lot of room and is designed to cook for a big group. At $1800 plus $3-400 at Costco on meat to fill it adds up quick.

I bought two of these at Lowes at end of season a few years ago for $130 a piece. Favorite is Costco or Sams Baby backs cooked in it. Seems to keep the meat moist compared to most smokers. Only issue is it needs chips refilled if you want it to smoke the whole time for a really smokey taste.

Did some ribs last night and they turned out great. I was kind of in a rush to cook them so next time will go slow and steady. We will see how this salmon turns out.
What did you have to do to break it in?

I finally put mine together this morning. Seasoned it up for 2 hours between low and high heat. My first smoke will be a beer can chicken with apple and oak pellets. Smoked bell peppers and taters.

I have a little bit too. Some of the forums people have tried a thin high temp gasket seal around the lid opening. You ever see the amount of smoke coming out of most smokers. It's actually alot.

I don't have any smoke leakage.

There are tools out there you can use to add more smoke if you want.

Ok.....I am thinking about getting crazy here and just buying the damn Green Mountain. More and more I look at it, the more I want it. The black WIFI Daniel Boone is stretching it so don't know if I can do that one and I am afraid that the Davy Crockett will be too small. Has anyone used the Davy Crockett before? Big enough to do a 10 - 12 lb Turkey?

I have been here before and trust me, you wont go wrong with any green mountain grill. I hate that saying, "trust me", but man I resisted buying a pellet grill for two years even though friends had though friends had them. Just couldn't justify the cost. After having a quality pellet grill, I swear by them. Traeger isn't a quality grill anymore so the GMG is the only middle of the road grill out their now. I have called their tech line on Saturdays and a real person answers. They are worth buying from.

GMG are solid and you wont go wrong with purchasing one. I've never used the blue tooth controls, but a good aftermarket remote thermometer will do everything you need. Even wake you up in the middle of the night on a 20+ pound 18 hour cook when your dog knocks the cord out of your outside outlet that powers the grill.

Wow ohhh wow! The best chicken I have ever cooked. I did a salt, pepper, season salt, yellow dry mustard, paprika, brown sugar, onion powder, and garlic powder. But made a paste with olive oil and smeared all over, inside, and under the skin. Fucking fantastic. Kinda the same rub I do on my ribs minus the olive oil.

Do you have a digital thermometer on the outside?? What kind of Smoker is it? I see that there are charcoal and electric ones.....etc. Don't know the differences.

I was part of a team of 3 , and we won " The Lock n Ham Jam " BBQ contest in Georgia 20 yrs ago with 2 of those webers. 1 for pork butts and one for ribs. You can do a great turkey in there.[emoji106]🏻

I'm sold.

Whenever I make beer can chicken, I use a lemon pepper seasoning. Djunkie told me about it and it's all I use.

I've tried other seasonings, but love the lemon pepper seasoning.

Gotta water the money tree to get some extra cash for a smoker. That, or just have the gas prices raised. [emoji6] [emoji3]

Big thanks to who started this thread and all the advice. Bought my traeger right before Thanksgiving and I have been smoking some really good things. I made some 6 hour baby back ribs the other day, followed the Traeger cook book, dam they were good. I've done everything from filet, new york, rib eye, tri tip, all organic raised beef, to a turkey, everything has been outstanding. Such a better taste with organic and grass feed meat and poultry. My favorite, home made grandma recipe chocolate chip cookies on the smoker for 13 minutes at 350. Fuck they were good.

Only down fall, the gym has needed to increase from 4 days to 6 days a week.:D:D

Cheers

Awesome!! I have been busy smoking everything too. Have done ribs twice, 2 beer can chickens, turkey, tri tip, salmon, pork butt and just this past weekend, chicken legs. I am still learning a ton and there is so much more for me to work on to start putting out some amazing food. I am going through pellets like water though!!
