We bought the i8 in a Cal King http://www.sleepnumber.com/sn/en/beds/Innovation-Series-Beds/p/i8 We also got their pillows too (which were ridiculously overpriced, but I love mine). We were out of there for just under $5K. Seriously worth it. I've never slept like this before. It has a base instead of a box spring, so I wouldn't think it would be any different than the setup you have.

We bought ours in San Diego and have never regret it. People will shop for weeks and spend thousands for a car to drive an hour a day. Those same people think your nuts for spending thousands on a bed that you hope to spend 7 hours a night in.

When shopping we went to one mattress store and I dont recall the price, but it was stupid high. They then offered us a 90 day return bed for about a third of the retail price. I wasnt to keen on the idea of a used bed so we passed. A week or two later we happened into another mattress store and when talking price I through the 90 day number at them from the other store a's they were competitor's. After walking away the guy returned and said they would beat it. Ended up walking out the store for I believe $1,600. Brand new Cali king set.

I love that damn bed. Thinking about going to lay in it now.

No. Inside of the mattress case are 3, 3" layers of latex foam plus 1, 3" layer of memory foam. Total mattress is 12" thick. There is nothing under that except for the bed frame. Sorry if I wasn't clear. The vid in my first post links to a video that show something similar to my bed.

I understand now. So where did you get the foam, from the company linked in the video?

We inherited a King size Tempurpedic (Relax-the-back branded) from my inlaws. They hardly ever used it. Both sides are adjustable, the whole nine-yards, so it's two Twin XL beds put together. My wife likes her side, mine is way to firm. There is a zip top topper I would like to swap to see if I can get my side comfortable. Either than or "engineer" my own after reading through your posts... :D

I thought maybe it gave you a grade or something:eek

The pressure of receiving a failing grade for not getting a good night's sleep, would be enough to prevent me from getting a good night's sleep :hmm
