Skaterfest 2024 Lake Texoma

Headed out tomorrow morning to Lake Texoma for Skaterfest. Dragging my buds 36 down & he's meeting me there. Neither of us have been there before. Heard they have 21 boats registered. Weather looks to be perfect thankfully.
My awesome wife can't make this trip so @BlowMe got the call. He's taking vacation tomorrow & Friday & join us.
This will most likely be the final weekend of running this 36 with 700s, looks like he is upgrading motors for next year.

700/#6 combo has to be one of the most reliable setups out there as far as I/O.

I grew up at Texoma, nice lake, pay attention to the weather. Random thunderstorms blow in quick.

Texoma used to be a pretty hard core performance boating destination. The Flash Gordon Nashville cats fatal boat crash seemed to put a serious kabosh on that lake though.

They still do a "shootout" every year (Texoma Throw Down), I don't know what the everyday "performance boating" is like now days.

8.3L Whipples on new big blocks, 1100hp a side. He needs to be sure no outboards pass him..........

Outboards are cute and have a nice warranty, but nothing pulls or sounds as good as twin blown BBC's

Hope the wind picks up a little for you guys. The cats I've owned always ran better and were more fun in a good 1 foot of wind chop when the lake was blown almost flat
I imagine those Skaters like a little more than that

I was down in San Diego in 06ish when he came down for powerboat magazines article on his 30 skater. They were covering our gun at the same time. Got to crawl around that 30 and check it out. It was crazy cool. I just wasn’t and am not a fan of arnesons. Although that thing threw probably the biggest rooster I’ve ever seen. I have video of him running in San Diego bay. Cool boat for sure. But his current one is gangster.
