I've always taken 70 to 44 to 40 when traveling to LHC. There have been some pretty rough patches on that route as well.

Lots of movement today but still in Douglas till tomorrow. The Livorsi analog tachs weren't communicating with the vessel view. Took a bunch of calls to Mercury and Livorsi to figure out that Livorsi supplied the wrong leads. They had diodes on them and they aren't suppose to. That's why were were running it on the trailer. Got that handled. The engine hatches just came out of polishing, have not been on the boat yet. Those took some time. At around 8PM, we all decided to throw in the towel until the morning.

The fender holsters need installed, one guy coming in early, install them. Run two trucks to the lake, one pulling my boat on the shop trailer. Me pulling my tilt. Quick spin, swap trailers and head for home. Had a rather enjoyable day, wrenching a bit and learning my way around Fair Chase. Damn, she's a sexy girl.

Skater tilts are a real work of art. I'll get some pics of the boat tilted before I get on the road.

Intimidated, because its a Skater, my first, and Peter Hledin was just sitting there with a smile on his face watching me look it over. He knows.

After spending the day on, in and around, its completely exceeded all my expectations. The tilt needs to been looked at by folks too. They are every bit as much art as is the boat.

It's genius. It rotates down and pivots. The top of the jib, lays on the deck of the drive guard portion of the trailer. It then telescopes in the ride along the trailer frame. I'll look for a picture of it, collapsed and stowed.

You can see it sitting in stowed condition on the drive guard. There are two "keepers" to keep it stowed tight.

Incredible journey following this thread. The trailer looks like a masterpiece. After owning your old 25 Daytona I can only imagine the # of hours cleaning & polishing the trailer alone.
