Watching a pretty good show on reelz.
Hour and a half long.
“Elton John, The Nations favorite song”

It’s counting down the top 20 EJ songs according to some sort of fan votes.

Excellent footage and commentary’s.

One of the funniest things about Elton John is that he is and always has been absolutely terrible at predicting his hit songs.
He’s quite aware of it and laughs at himself for it.
He was adamant about not releasing Bennie and the Jets as a single, for example, but caved eventually.

My favorites are Yellow brick road and don’t let the sun go down on me.

He did not even want “sun go down” on the album, let alone as a single. Of course, it is one of his most iconic songs ever, and the duet with George Micheal (RIP) will forever stand alone as one of the greatest of all time.

Saw Elton for the first time this past October.
He, and his band, considering they are a bunch of old guys can totally rock out.

Extremely impressed....and this is my new favorite EJ song.

Big Elton John fan. One of me earliest memories is listening to Crocodile Rock driving down Magnolia Blvd. in my Dads 66 Elcamino.

If your an Elton fan and don’t have the album “Live in Australia” get it. It’s absolutely amazing.

Whenever I think EJ, I think "Pinball Wizard". Never was much for his music style as I tend to lean towards "heavier" styles in modern music.

Talented as hell though. Bought my parents tickets to the "Dueling Pianos" tour at Angel stadium. Late-ish 90's maybe? They talked about that show for years.

Never seen this before. GM is one of my favorite singers. I keep waiting for someone to do one of his songs on The Voice. Amazing duo. Thank you!

I bet it was 40 years ago... I was 9. Somewhere in Los Angeles, my dad had tickets and took the family. No way could I appreciate the music then as I do now. The only memory I have is when he came out dressed as Minnie Mouse and played 😅 😅 😅

Saw him in Vegas from about 4 rows back. Best concert I’ve ever been to, as hard / weird that is for me to say... he was amazing live.

Goodbye yellow brick road is probably my favorite song.

OK... since you posted it....

you only get to pick "ONE" EJ song....

whats your favorite...

It's tough... cause I can listen to all his song 24/7.....
for me..it be Funeral for a Friend..

I saw him at Dodger Stadium 1975... I was 16 and believe thats when my ear drums where blown out... they never been the same since... whenever I attend concerts, I have to bring earplugs.....

Funeral for a friend from “here and there” was Debbies favorite EJ track.
For me it’s tough to pick just one.
I also lean much more heavier for my rock.
But EJ is like other great ones who sort of create their own genre.
He is without a doubt the most improbable “rock star” of all time.
Total geek, in his younger years he looked like toad from American Graffiti....or even nerdier than that really.
A piano playing nerd who had a lyricist write his songs, what are the odds?
Rod Stewart said a funny quote. “I come out in a feather boa and the press goes crazy...Elton John comes out dressed like Louie the 14th and no one bats an eye”...
Their writing technique is backwards. Most bands and song writers develop a melody or riffs that become a tune, then they add lyrics and make a song. Sometimes it takes years for a song to develop into what we know as iconic tunes from superbands.
Not so EJ and Taupin.
Taupin writes a story...EJ puts it to music, and yet another masterpiece is laid out in virtually minutes.

Some of his biggest hits were like 15 minute efforts. It’s insane.

Oct 1975 --- I was there, along with a couple of others in attendance  Amazing showman and musician. If I recall, Emmy Lou Harris was on first.

Not my pic --- but I'd forgotten how many were jammed inside LA Stadium

The one recall the most is Rocket Man- not because it’s a great song but it was playing when something very significant happened in my young life.

Many of the others listed would be ranked ahead of it were just down to the song itself.

He is a great entertainer no doubt.

Madman Across the Water should be my favorite, but I think I'll have to say Your Song. It is perfect.

“Your song” was the number one fan ranked song on the show I watched.
It’s really crazy how many hits he has.
It’s like every song they mentioned was “oh yeah, I forgot about that one!”
