I feel you. I'm a mile and half from the beach, which is nice, but the congestion, noise and amount of people has become old. I look out my windows and see buildings. I frequently hear ambulances going to/from Hoag Hospital. I don't think humans were meant to live this way.

Moving to AZ is in my future plans. I'm considering Prescott.

You can come visit us in Phoenix when this happens. The wife needs to be near an Equinox[emoji3]

There is no perfect place but it nice to get out of the crowded cities and enjoy things that you like to do at your front door. Acoma is my new 405 Fwy.

Doesn't matter where you live, as long as your happy. I could never live full time in Havasu as I don't care for the desert mentality, yet you're happy there. Different strokes for different folks. Home is where your heart is.

I agree, I need more diversity without seeing the same people day after day. I just need to find my high rise condo with floor to ceiling glass somewhere around Phoenix.

My daughter lived in the Panorama Towers in Vegas for a while. Loved the place.
I would just walk around the garage area checking out of the high dollar cars. Never saw so many V-10 and V-12 cars in one parking lot. She was on the 25th floor and the views were incredible off her balcony.

I'm not sure why I'm so attracted to this Tony aside from the ability to ride up an elevator, arrive at my unit and just look out at the skyline.
No yard, no nothing to maintain. I'll quit boating without looking back if I can make this dream come true.

OK, so here is a dead serious question. How much money does it take to retire at 55? It's right around the corner for me and I have no idea what it takes. They used to say spend 3% of your investments but that means you would need $3.3M to have $100k per year on top of your home. Jeez!

Its all different depending on who you are. We retired before that. Private sector too!

You must know what you spend yearly or plan to spend worst case scenario.
Add in $20k for medical
Add 25% as a buffer
Now double that figure, thats what you need to gross yearly

We're kinda making it up as we go :eek but for us its pension plus savings plus income from investments. Later we'll add in 401k and Social Security (if its still there). Just because I'm retired doesn't mean I quit trying to make money.
