It's always poor people that have the best ideas on how to make a lot of money.
Appliance repair would be great....and easy.if you had a tiny utility trailer, I'd say appliance repair.
last week we came home to a broken dryer.... okay it lasted 20yrs... maybe time for a new one. One big issue.... we're on propane. All the new dryers have to be converted and you have to do it yourself or hire someone to do it (I converted ours back in the day when I had more time & energy). I was ready to just buy a new one, but it would still have us down a few days without a machine. I hit up a few guys on offerup / marketplace for used machines, but they took too long to respond, in the meantime I pulled the 2 bolts off the top of the dryer, diagnosed that the belt had snapped and ordered a rebuild kit off amazon for $12 and it was there the next day. Installed in 10 minutes and we were back in action.
these offer-up / marketplace guys charge $200-250 for a used working machine delivered and they pick up your old one. So they are making a good 200-225 per machine a pop. pretty quick / easy cash money w/ minimal investment.... but definitely need a truck or tiny utility trailer.
I hear the US gov paid six billion for eight stations.I have heard people make out well installing tesla chargers. I don't know how true that is, maybe someone on here does.

Good to see you posting. It's always poor people that have the best ideas on how to make a lot of money.
I’m always looking for techs but need more of a time commitment. You’d make a ton of money with your skill set. That isnt an issue. Its the ladders and larger items that I am more concerned about.
Easier to do when referred by a mutual friend or connection though. Not even too sure where to start that.
@Riverbound you want a Monday and Tuesday evening/everyother weekend tech out of the Burbank area? lol!
My goal this year is to develop and start my own VRF team here. Just need to get a few more cogs into the mix to make that happen.I’m always looking for techs but need more of a time commitment. You’d make a ton of money with your skill set.
Some day you will work with me.
My advice if you want to go the side job route. Do service only stay away from install don’t need much and a gorilla ladder will fit in the back of an Escalade and get you 99% of the places you need to get in.

Just did these for my wife. 6ft level, painters tape and a screw gun. Took an hour from the time I got off the couch. This would be an easy $100-150 I bet.
Side note are you using 250 or a 105 vrf crew? I have a big 1 coming up but it’s in Ontario. Maybe you can consultMy goal this year is to develop and start my own VRF team here. Just need to get a few more cogs into the mix to make that happen.
Not sure if you can afford me there bud. Lol!!
I worked 15 hour days all this week here in Portland. Im exhausted… I fly out at 4 so I’m leaving to the airport at around 2. I can’t wait to be in bed laying next to my wife. I work tomorrow but I’m taking the weekend off. 60 hours plus travel is more than enough for me oh and Sunday is another travel day so not even a full weekend.
I’ll be back out in a couple weeks. Portland is my assigned shop for wabo certifications now. I actually really like it out there. Cold… but really niceWhen you back in Portland? Dinner on me!
My son did this as a student a couple of times with UPS (Christmas rush season). He always worked with the same driver.Maybe UPS or Fedex over the holidays, try weekends only. Probably pays pretty good.
There's a reason you've never seen a fat UPS guyMy son did this as a student a couple of times with UPS (Christmas rush season). He always worked with the same driver.
Good money - but they worked like rented mules. If you're not in half assed shape, you won't last 2 days.
Curious have they cleaned it up or are you in a nice area.I’ll be back out in a couple weeks. Portland is my assigned shop for wabo certifications now. I actually really like it out there. Cold… but really nice
The cat that handles our area for clogged sinks works 7 days a week, he only breaks out the snakes, no plumbing, going under house etc etc, did mine the other day $150 bucks, probably does 10-15 a day. His son helps during week but he takes all the late and weekend stuff.
All depends on the dump fees in his area. I did this for years. Still have 3 dump trailers. Problem is my local dump raised the rates so high. $150 a ton for trash, $60 for clean dirt. $50 for clean concrete. There are guys from the 909 that will load and haul for what the dump fees are. They drive a hour home and dump there for $27-50 a ton.How about starting a dump trailer rental biz? I know you don't have a truck but it is something I have thought about. Park and lock dump trailer at cust location and pick up and dump for a fee. As far as I'm concerned, other than the ocassional stuck piece of junk or a repair on the trailer all you'd be doing is connecting/disconnecting trailer and driving. Seems damn easy to me.
I was right by the airport. They said they did recently clean out all the rvs and homeless that were there by the training center.Curious have they cleaned it up or are you in a nice area.

So I’m actually going to start staying through the weekends to hold open welding classes and get some certs pumped out.Let me know. I am 15mins from the airport on the other side of the river. You probably go home on weekends, but if you happen to stay we could jump into the Yott and do a cruise into downtown. Lots of cool shit to see from the river.

My newphew is learning plumbing, maybe he can work for you someday.I signed off for Pat's license and was giving Him most of them. Let him borrow a few snakes to get going. Now I am back doing it in house.
Been averaging a extra 8k a month from the plumbing and that's just regular customers. My realtor does property management now also. And picked up a few big clients. Some I go to once a month. Easy $300 for a 30 minutes. I was up until 230am shopping for another plumbing rig. Looking like 85k-110k for just tge rig no tools for a walk in body.
Just finished another repipe yesterday. They have 6 houses on 223rd by my old pad. They all need to be repiped. Already did 150k of work on there Torrance house that included repipe. Needs the drains done next. One was broken under the house so while there we fixed it and snaked the bathroom. It's endless around here with the age of the homes.
