The lifted truck thread had me looking for pictures long gone from the golden days of socal Heloc f250 on 49's madness. Who here was involved with the old socal motorsports shops such as Custom Motorsports, Rolling Big Power, White Motorsports, BTW Performance, Outlaw Offroad, Socal Supertrucks? I grew up looking at all the trucks off the 91 fwy when I was a kid. Would be cool to see if anyone here was involved with that. Photobucket going away essentially nuked everything.

My mind went back to the 80s and the mini truck clubs and runs. Stylin Minis, Ecstasy, Volkomen Strassa VW club. The debauchery of Truck Runs where we got piss drunk and cruised around inside a park. AfterMadness, Resolutions, and a pile of them I can't recall. Good Times. I've got photos in an album somewhere.

Same here. The late 80's to mid/late 90's were some damn good times in the mini truck scene. From what I have been told I had a great time. Even built a truck or two back then. Made the cover of Mini Truckin exactly 30 years ago this month.

Somehow my truck ended up on two covers the same month. The Sport Truck Mini Truck deal almost cost me my Mini Truckin cover. The main editor of Truckin/Mini Truckin just happened to be leaving on vacation so it went to print before he saw the other cover. The other truck is my body dropped Toyota on six link rear suspension and torsion bar hydros. Truck rode better than stock all the way into the ground.

The blue blazer was my older cousin's, he dumped a shit ton of money into it and i picked it up for pennies when he started having kids pop out. I subsequently sold it for pennies when I moved to the Southwest in 2015.

I built the grey Chevy and the red land cruiser myself. Basically gave away the grey chevy when I sold it too, but honestly I hated that truck because all I could see were the paint flaws and I was the one that did all the body work and paint, 2 years of work and I couldn't enjoy it.....

This green chevy was my dream rig as a youngn, and set the course for me building the grey truck. As ive aged, those dreams have changed course. I don't care to own another square body ever again, but I'd love to own a few older ford pickups. For some reason I just find the older fords much more classy and stylish than any GM pickup.

I've still yet to own a truck on boggers. I keep browsing FB marketplace looking for a set to put on the Raptor just for some redneckery, but haven't found the right deal. Some 35x15.5's would really put a smile on my face.

44" Boggers! :

Not a truck, but from a truck run. One of the few things that survived my youth. It's had a place in the shop since High School.

If I recall we did a game called bat circle relay at this event and everyone who did it puked. We duct taped a club member into his camp chair and put a skinned hotdog in his hand and took photos with a Polaroid camera, he was convinced he was playing with himself the next day. It was hot as hell at this event.

I was poor as hell so my cars where always junk, they let me hang out because my step brother had a nice truck and I was a good bartender. Hence the Jungle Juice trophy. I made a lot of slut sauce back in the day. We made it by the 30 gal trash can full.

I used to build show trucks. 87-99 ish
first build was a 72 Chevy luv in highschool late 80s early 90 no pics
then 89 single cab toyota
then 91 extra cab
many chevy full size trucks after those. Got married and kids etc sold it all. Got the yellow truck back for my oldest son for first car. He always drooled over it, until his friends thought it was to bright and encouraged him to rattle can it flat black. WTF nope trucks for sale buy your own shit.
most pics, memories gone with the divorce. Worth the loss lol
white Chevy I built for my youngest son 14in bulletproof lift, ended up changing it to a manageable 6in cst lift and he totaled it.

Bob Thompson the same guy that does boat lettering, used to do all our club art. Small world

RBP is still around right?
Yes, they make rims and accessories for trucks and UTV’s and some sandrail parts not advertised. New owners recently so that could be good or bad, not sure who purchased

This thread brings back such good memories! I didn't have the coin to buy anything NEAR that nice back in those days! I was happy with a late-model bug with 8 spoke Empis! 🤣

I'm 20+ years late to the game, but I still love the trucks from this era. Current sled. She needs some updating, but I love it!

I’ll have to look around to find the magazines. But my last year doing car audio I built 12 cover vehicles in 12 months. It was nuts. SEMA was a crazy time for us working not stop and even finishing cars on the way to the show.

I never understood the lifted to the sky trucks on 44's. I appreciate the work that goes into the build and the creativeness but they just weren't my cup of tea.

99-07 chevy/gmc best looking trucks!
I'd say 02-04 Ford Superduty and 99-01 if you install clear headlights or clear fogged turn signal lenses. GM trucks of that era are way nicer and the Duramax is a beast but the Superdutys stole it on looks. When lifting a truck nothing looks cleaner than a leaf spring setup. It doesn't ride the best at all but the lack of components just makes it a clean bitchin look.

I like the1999-2007 superduties as well! They look real beefy when lifted, paint to match, and clean parts installed. Of course once you swap in a different front end to ditch the stock leafs they ride and perform really well too.

This was my cousins truck. 6" lift with Deavers, Kings, and 20" Welds. He sold it in 05 in Mesa. I would love to get it back. Like I said in the lifted truck thread and not that I'm into it but this truck was a pussy magnet.

Such a clean truck! I wish Weld would make a come back, Showoff motorsports will make you Weld style design wheels and look good, yet a classic Weld is hard to beat!

I’ve had @Bobby_329 truck pics in my phone since highschool lmao
I had alot more money I didn't care about back then. I was right out of highschool still living at my parents just working and blowing all the money on trucks and boats. Now I daily drive a beater to work, my wife has a nice navigator mom mobile, still have a sick boat and some sand toys though priorities lmao.
