Father daughter duo here. I’m here from Washington state with my dad for Desert Storm. My first time to Havasu, both of our first Desert Storms. Originally we had planned for DS 2020, but then COVID happened and killed our plans.

This year, we made it happen. We made the haul (22 hours of straight drive time). Through literall snow storms and awful rain, we made it towing a 22’ Daytona with twin 225 Promax’s running 32 cleavers.

We are here through Sunday. I lurk on these threads frequently and see all the guys in their smaller v drives, jet, and outboards playing in Parker. I’d love to watch those guys rip in early morning but I’m not sure where/when is the best time to find them.

Besides the Parker info, what else should I know? Places to go? Best view point for the Poker Run? Boats to watch? I want to experience it all while we are here.

Alright guys, hit me with the RPD wealth of knowledge 😎

Going from havasu springs to pirates in the morning is always nice. Where are you staying? Pictures of the boat!

Well tomorrow is the street party, good place to meet some new friends. Probably get a nice boat ride in before the street party starts. Can't get in too much trouble heading towards havasu springs by yourself, 3 dunes shows up on Google maps as well.
Going north you need to lift your feet in one or two areas, there's a marked up chart around here somewhere that shows the route. I never had any issues with my 25 Daytona, but I almost know where I'm going . When in doubt follow someone deeper than you 😁

Id love too, but I just sold my boat on Monday, I'm a boat bitch this weekend and my ride doesn't get in till Friday morning. I'm sure the bars are still open

There's the official "Unofficial Map" on the stickies. I always follow bigger stuff...I usually figure either they're smarter, or will plow better. You have to make the run to Pirate's. The gorge is pretty damn impressive the first time!
Hell, I've been going through it for 20 years, and still pretty impressive.

If you are as unfortunate as me you will only be getting 4 hours of sleep.

Beautiful float @Stream88, what’s the story on the lightening graphics? I like ‘em.

Take this with a grain of salt as I’m by no means a veteran of the lake/river. If you guys rise early, run the river during sunrise. You can really push the throttles and the glass is great but there’s something special about floating through the gorge when you’re the only one in there. I’m sure your bote is thirsty so FYI fuel @ Pirates Cove is 24/7 however Topock66 won’t be open until 9am for food.

Also take some more pics of that gorgeous 22!

When you open up the page for this forum, it's a few down from the "Great Threads From The Past". It has a link to the Google Map, showing Parker up to Laughlin I think.

Edit: I'd post a link, but I'm using my phone, and not that sharp with this stuff.

I think I found it. Doesn’t really draw a line through the delta to pirates, but you can see the shallow spots.

My experience with ocean sailing is to always look at the chart and plot your intended course before you raise anchor. Then keep an eye for daymarkers and review the chart underway if needed. Sailboat moves at 10 knots, this is a little different.

It's on the second page, a little bit of searching in here and you might find an updated one.

All I found was a marked up photo of the delta. Is there more somewhere?

I keep opening this thread thinking there will be a fresh recount of the OPs day out and/or some more pics of their float…

But it’s just you guys talking about another thread.

We are out of Wenatchee.

As far as the MRE’s are concerned, I ont turn down free food 😁

Shout out to @Ace in the Hole and @Shlbyntro for showing us upriver this morning.

Thanks @HNL2LHC for reaching out!

The power of RDP wins again! 😎

We have family in Spokane and my Ol' ladys mom lived in Wanatchee. Spent some time on Long Lake outside of Spokane. Plan on hauling the boat up there this summer.

The main body of the lake will be zoo.. Rough chopped up water everywhere. I would launch and go up the gorge towards Pirates. You can see the big boats go by and hang at Pirates. Time the ramps

Answering the graphics question: An owner previous us was a big fan of Metallica Ride the Lightening.

That is fukn rad!!

Makes complete sense now!!

Soo.. is the name of the boat "Ride the Lightning"?

If not, it should be!! Colors and everything definitely match the album cover.. so cool!!

Sorry I was a big Metallica fan! They put on some of the best concerts I've ever been too!

Sorry for the rant, but such a cool boat, and the story behind the gel is great!

Let your dad know.. his boat is badass.. and apparently he did a fine job with you too!!😉

Have a blast in the Zoo!

@Shlbyntro - Thank YOU! Awesome pictures too!!! We don’t have a lot of shots of us running. Those are sweet!

@JUSTWANNARACE - The boat doesn’t currently have a name… but we’ll have to consider it 😁 Dad and I appreciate the complement 😎

The advice is great. Getting to see/go places we might have never gone before.
