Seems there is so many options these days.
Got any recommendations?
I see there is all kinds of "amazon" ones are these any good?
I like the traditional 4ft and 8ft fixtures but do have two Amazon 14" round ones that work great when working on a specific thing but I dont think they are great for everyday light.

Some examples of what I am looking at

Those seem really nice. I just don’t have room for 8’rs. In my 2 car garage. With stairs he racks already mounted.
I’m cheap also. I did a harbor freight dual led bulb 4’rs
They have these in 4ft lengths also. In the picture I have 8 mounted, they came in a 10 pack for $168.

I'm using the same ones, recommended by a friend that put them in his 60 x 100 and they are bright. Definitely directional, but with proper overlap not much for shadows.

This is 4 lights, 2 per side just sitting in the braces. They are connected end to end.

They’re getting mounted to the “rafters”, and I’ll add 2 more down the center, but above the cross pieces so I can get height out of my 4-post hoist for working underneath.

Yep. Here's my 24' x 20' fab area within my shop. No shadows anywhere. Sure helps to see what I'm doing.

I just installed these high bays in my shop and they are badass. This building had one functioning light in it when I bought it so it was a major improvement to say the least.

The two pics at the bottom without thumbs are panoramic photos after I got everything cleaned up and have all the lights in.

Pro electrician here.

There’s an old saying: “you get what you pay for”. That’s not true. You don’t always get what you paid for but you never get what you didn’t pay for.

Did a machine shop last year and owner had bought some Amazon lights to try out, maybe $80. Before I installed them, I brought a sample I don’t remember but probably $180. Well on contrast the amazon were shit. They were bright but the light was very hard to work with. It was beamy and harsh and lots of glare and narrow. If you caught one from the side in your sight directly, it was really annoying. He pulled out his checkbook and bought the lithonia 30 units IIRC. Instal was the same price either way.

Another job, about 20 acre equipment yard. Guy installed el-cheepo’s from amazon on about 20 poles 18 moths before I got there. Roughly 30% were out already and it didn’t look good for the rest. He asked me to replace the broken ones but buy the time you put the money in for lift rental, it just makes sense to put all good ones in. That guy has more money than god, but didn’t want to spend any of it. I’m not the right contractor for him.
