Watching the Virtual Railfan feed this morning and a real live shoot out was going on , at least 20 shots fired ! Now trains aren’t even safe .. what’s the world coming to ??

Yeah, we have been looking for info about the shooting since we have a couple guys right down there by the station. Even the TPD twitter site has almost zero info. Just that there was a shooting and stay away from the area.

I just watched the video from the KOLD story posted above. It looks like there were 2 undercover officers on the train and suspected a couple guys for carrying. They took both out and had an adjacent K9 officer inspect the bags and didn't appear to indicate anything. Im guessing there was a 3rd they were going to talk to and he is the one that started the shooting.....

A DEA officer is the one who passed, another DEA Officer is critical... TPD Officer that was shot should be okay. One suspect is dead, other is in custody. It was a drug investigation.

I'm not too familiar with police protocols in this situation, but I'm guessing he ran in to the sounds of shots being fired and as soon as he got into the car he found he had no cover so he found the nearest cover which was back by the camera. I don't know if you have ever been in one if those multi-deck Amtrak cars, but the lower level near the door has pretty much ZERO cover places where one can quickly jump behind.

He was found dead in a bathroom. No idea if it was self inflicted or was hit by a cop round.

No idea on the second perp but he was taken alive.

Been on the business end of a gun on more than one occasion and never once did the logical thing.
