Perhaps a better description would be a blend of anarchists and statists. Some have changed their ways like O's good friend Bill Ayers who most certainly was an anarchist. Changing his ways after he resurfaced, he became a statist and has worked overtime influencing and overhauling the nation's educational system.

Without getting this whole thread heading in another circle, suffice it to say, O was mentored by those who would change the nation from what the Founding Fathers set it up to be.

Anarchism is all about voluntary association, it's more in line with Libertarianism than anything else.

Bill Ayers was more of a communist. Just because he didn't like OUR government, wanted to overthrow OUR government, doesn't mean he didn't want it replaced with some other form, and hence central control that operated in line with his and the WU's political views. There is nothing voluntary about communism or the WU. "Anti Colonist with socialist tendandies" is pretty close to what we see, comparing that to anarchism is like comparing socialism to capitalism.
