Not in the biz but we just bought a 40' and 20' containers for outside storage at our shop. 40' was $2200... 20' was $1800. Delivery was $328 each from Wilmington to Pacoima

Thanks. Yah I have been watching that thread. Wife and I would love to find our own piece of land out where we stay in ocotillo. The compound we stay at is hard to beat, and we want to do something similar.

Where's the compound you stay at? Off the 76 between Pole Line and the Blue Inn?
Saw your white Ford on Cahuilla by Gas Dome right before New Years. We had just arrived. If the toys were unloaded I would of chased you down to shake your hand. I was telling everyone at camp about your Thanksgiving misadventure. Nice to see you out and about!

off the 78 neighboring the fire station. Across from blow sand and the air port. My buddy owns 40 acres out there.

Sorry we missed you. Yah the season started off a little rough but we have had some really good trips since then. Thanking our lucky stars we are still around.

Side note but sort of on topic:
Just met with the founders of this organization.

https://rebuildingourheroes.org/

They’ll soon be providing jobs and housing for veterans, and are using shipping containers as the housing modules.

I’m trying to figure out how to partner with them, I’d love to scale our real estate flipping/renting business into something greater, something that can give back to heroes in need.

Just to clarify my sole use for this is as a storage space for my Offroad toys. Right now I’m using one of the containers on site but need to get my own.

Another option may be the box from a large delivery truck or a set of doubles. Likely not as secure out there. We have one on our ranch for hoarding and putting future yard sale stuff in.

They have gotten pretty spendy, about $3800+ for a 40ft'r to Parker, probably $400 less to ocotillo.

That sounds like it would work for what I would need. Can you send me some pics of the floor area that needs work? and of the unit? I have the same # if you still have it.

Im going back out in a couple weeks to level the area im placing the container and then can arrange to get it moved.

??, there is no "under" the floors in the sense that the 1-1/4" treated plywood is exposed on the bottom too. If it moved, just look under it while it's on the truck, no need to cut the floors. There are I beams that run side to side every 18-24"ish. When it is set on a solid surface then yes, there would be a 6" void below the plywood where anything could mold.
We rolled thick plastic sheeting down with silicone on the edges then a layer of 3/4 OSB mainly to seal away the chemicals in the treated plywood floors.

Anyone on here do shipping for these things? Looking at pricing now and would rather spend money with a member than some random person.

We have 3 of them out at our place in Ocotillo Wells out on Budweiser blvd past the Leedy place. It was a number of years ago, but they were 2500 a piece delivered and placed. My long travel car would scrub both sides sidewalls when I stuffed it in. It was a bitch getting out to close the door, but you look like you have to shinny out the window.

Hey RB,
Glad it worked out for you. It was a trick getting it on the trailer but not to bad. By the way if the sun is shinning that fan should be running. Wont run at night even with the battery for very long.

If I drive the truck in with the passenger wheels rubbing the wall. I can get our drivers door and walk down the side. It’s tight but I can get out. This is it in a container I was using before mine showed up.

Yah. It works. I think I might add on to the system (more panels, batteries And bigger inverter) so I can keep everything on battery tenders. Pretty cool set up and would work great out there.

Will do. Unfortunately our next trip in a couple weeks will be our last for the season. [emoji17]. We are neighbors to the Fire department.

No. We stay at my buddy’s property and have been there probably 5 years now. We have decided we want to find a spot out there similar to my buddy’s set up.

Chuck was one of the original emergency go to guys out there. This was before that fire station was built. He and his wife lived on Old Mine Rd. by the Blu Inn. I'm 64 and started going out there when my parents moved to Vista in "62". When I started going out there by myself I met them and needed something welded. He had a welder and said "here it is, have at it" I was 18 a the time and got the job done and started a friendship that lasted a lot of years. He and Agnes had a knack for spotting people that weren't just the usual jackasses that they encountered in their line of work. Amazing folks. Had meals and showers at their house a number of times. I digress, when I get old I'll Probably winter out there and summer in Havasu......Chuck

Looking to buy a 20' container in SoCal. So many damn scammers and bullshit artists on CL and Facebook its infuriating. I have a 20' flat deckover to haul, would need ability to load at the pickup location ideally, don't really want to pay someone to move it. Any experience with good sources recently?

Prices are Waaaaaaaay down on 40' high cubes, even "1 trip" containers now all the covid backup is all unloaded. Not so much on 20's.

Call Dennis 562-556-7725- Tell him Josh his old neighbor from Johnson Valley referred you. He lives in Bullhead but brokers all over.

I picked up two from the Yermo Gov Planet yard in the past couple of months, one was 2100 and the other was 24. You have to bid on them, normally there's at least one or two up for auction each week. They will load it onto your flatbed in the yard with a huge forklift.

I would love to have and will eventually get a 40' unit, but I can only fit a 20'er where I want to put this. Thanks for the lead, I will give Dennis a call. I'm hoping to be around $2k, but I'll probably fall out of my chair when I get the quote.

This is for 20'ers or 40's? With the cost of fuel and time to get there an back, would probably just pay more to get one here closer to home.
