On the wacker, maybe reduce the hatch and move the bench back another foot. Still looks super cool. Looks like there is plenty of room in that fairing to open it a bit for access :D

We have been eager to get some boats out west...

I know someone who would be willing to run a demo boat for you on the West Coast to help you break into that market. :D

Things are moving along nicely. We had some issues with vendors, but we are rolling now. More to follow in a few days. We are also going to be running a Special Outboard boat promotion from 3/15 - 4/15. So talk to the wife and pony up those refund checks.

That thing looks sweet! How does it handle big water? Like maybe the ocean. It looks like it would be a blast to run out to Catalina.

Sutphens are know for their ability to handle the ruff stuff. We were talking to someone last year about a Catalina race boat.

That picture was taken at the Miami show. We brought it there without an engine and Evinrude let us use and engine for display purposes. Here is a picture of the finished product.
Lokks a lot better with a Merc on it :thumbsup :D

what exactly do you do with all that bow space? i dunno it would be nice to see the cockpit moved forward some and utilize more space.

Nice to have some more cockpit room but that would ruin the lines of this boat IMHO. That long deck just looks perfect...

Our O/B model has about an extra foot of space in the cockpit.

Lines look killer but that underbow area needs some changes.

I agree. In such a low freeboard boat a mid cabin is about useless. I think just a big flat floor or a pad under there for storage is ideal.

I would also like to see that hand hold bump out on the port side eliminated, not sure what that functions as from the pics.

Hard to tell from my cell phone but it looks lime there is only one small cleat on the outside of the boat. They might be trying to preserve the deck lines of the boat by minimizing hardware on top (common out here). So they could be using that handle as a grab handle as well as a place to tie ropes / fenders on the inside and then hang over the gunnel.

Not uncommon to see boats out here with zero cleats to preserve the lines of the deck. The handle does seem in a strange place for a grab handle.. But that's the upside to anything "bolted" onto the hull.. You can change it / move it / delete it when your building one. :).

My boat has pull up cleats on the sides and Bimini hardware.. I wish none of it was there, but the repair doesn't justify the return to change it to what I would want. (quick pin cleats)

That bump out is for the grab handle and drink holders (see below).

As for the cleats, R.D. hit the nail on the head. Rich feels it takes away from the lines of the boat. If the customers asks for them, no problem. We install 5 pull up cleats, otherwise its just the port and starboard midship.

You guys have a good eye.

I'd have those foot braces hinged so that they fold flat into the floor when you need easier access to the front. I'd ditch the current cupholder bump out and move them to the side gunnel, then give the port side the same radius as the starboard side to clean up the lines of the dash.

On the cleat issue, you might consider something that is mounted on the interior deck gunnel so you maintain the smooth lines of the hull visually topsides which I agree with 100%. The type of unit in my photo is very stout and when popped up can serve to either hang a fender or even a mooring line.

If memory serves they were getting 80's out of a 496ho? I know there very fast compared to the boats we have out here because if the narrow beam.. I'm guessing.

The boat looks wider then a 7' beam, especially with the amount of space between the bucket seats.
