Well another one is out the door. Wife and I bought a house in St. George Utah. We will be closing end of month and moving in June once our son is out of school.

I can’t wait to explore the freedom and…… wait I’m the last one they let in. It’s now closed. Cali is awesome great opportunity, weather, etc. don’t leave.

Wife and I said yes to St George in 2022 and almost 2 years later here we are.

Seriously I can’t wait!!!!

Lots of things to get ready to move like pack. Man I have a lot of shit….

Congratulations to you just north of Las Vegas. That area is really expanding some fabulous new homes and existing homes of rolling hills and off-road is literally out the back door.
Not to mention the lake. Not to mention you’re probably less than one hour an hour and 10 minutes away from Zion national Park.

Congrats @Bpracing1127 . New chapters are good and getting out from under California’s control is a positive. I’ll be here a little longer until my daughter is out of High School.

Packing and moving SUCKS!!!
We’re almost at a year now in New Hampshire and loving it.
We declutterred and packed up what we wanted from a house we were in for 18 years in CA. Used ABF pods, transported three vehicles and packed dogs and cats into a motorhome for a week on the road.
I was very pleased how smooth the whole process was.

Congratulations!!! So those of you that have moved to this area from SoCal, any regrets? Also, how is the medical care in relation to SoCal? This area is on our list as well.

Congrats. We love it there. Much better place to have a family I think.

They do need more infrastructure there, it will show up eventually

Really wow that's interesting. You'd think the Havasu type aren't like that.. But I guess it depends.

I caught myself being a bit "OC" one day too here in Texas lol. I'm like why the hell is Total Wine and booze stores closed on Sunday? Oh well comes with the territory I guess!

Haha…….

In Florida, they don’t sell liquor in a grocery store. They sell beer and wine. But you have to go to a liquor store to buy hard liquor.

To the OP, congrats on your move. Enjoy the adventure of your new surroundings. It’s fun to explore all your new options.

I just made the great escape myself this week.
One of the hardest things I’ve done, but by myself in multiple trips….
onwards and upwards!

Congrats! I’ve been looking at homes in the St.George/Washington area the last couple of years. Beautiful area and every truck either had a dirtbike,MTB,hauling a SxS,boat or horse trailer! People sure get outside and enjoy it up there.

Since my pop passed, we too want to move out there.
If we could find a house that fits our needs/budget.

I'm jealous man.
Congratulations. 👍

It’s going to be a great move that’s a nice area no doubt. Seen it grow the last 38 years from going to Powell.

Left ca in 2020 for az and like it. Nice to be in a state that’s off road friendly as well as firearms too. 25 min away Is all I need to go and can hit trails or shoot.

Now only 4.5 hrs from Powell but only been twice since moving.but then again for me I’m doing other things I haven’t done in a while or just new things and find it easier to stay near home when I enjoy it.

Good job....now get your plates changed ASAP and get that UT DL pronto :)

Funny.....when I "relocated" to TX I was noticing it was hard getting people to answer the phone when I would call a business. I figured it out.....I have had a 714 number for 35 years and people were like "F that CA call" lol I established a TX number while keeping my 714 # and walla.....people started answering my calls :)

For us, the biggest reasons to move were the most obvious

Schools, we have a 5 yo and school is very important to us
Neighborhood and community, we wanted somewhere we will feel safe and a place for our son to grow up and play like I did when I was a kid
Traffic, so cal traffic sucks. I work from home so I am shielded but when I do venture out, man it’s crappy it’s all hours every day of the week
Crime, homeless, etc. so over the filth and trash from the homeless. Just the other day we were a block from our house and a naked guy tripping ran up to our car and ran away. My son “ what’s wrong with him” he was full nude.

Then the obvious stuff
Guns
Gas price
Home price
Taxes

I’m born and raised in OC. Hard to leave my family and wife’s family but the pros to moving outweighed the crap we were putting up with.

That list sounds a lot like my list, minus the naked dude.
Moved to Henderson, NV this past June after being born and raised in OC and we are so happy that we did.
