The ultimate reason is none of you or anyone whom owns a Schiada could bare the thought of a Schiada getting wet

Justified isn’t running a GN legal motor. He’s running a big cubic inch TT motor. He runs with the Nordic and Tub of Fools and they are limited to 105mph lap average?? They are cruising those boats hoping for good pit times and breakage free running. Since they have to run more laps than the rest of the field without breaking out of their times it’s all about consistency. All three of those boats will out run a GN boat easily.

So are you saying that de-tuning a Schiada to run in GN class is kinda like de-tuning a Ferrari Challenge Cup car to run in the Mazda Miata racing class? :D

I wouldn’t say all that. Justified won the enduro as a GN boat. [emoji848]

What’s it up to now?

I am contemplating bringing a video crew down to film the race and the presentation of the cash

I see what you did there [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I will say this. You’ve got to give props to these guys. Boat racing is dying and they are getting behind it with their own money. “Side bets” like these are what will keep the sport alive because it keeps it interesting and creates excitement.

I will say this I’m really looking forward to the enduro this year to watch this whole deal unfold. And it definitely breathes some new life into this event.

Riverbound I could not agree more...this will line the shore with fans and it will bring boats out of the wood work. OD1...did Gary win the GN class??? No argument but I always thought he was Div 7..never without turboes..don't know for sure.

No he hasn't. And the fact of the matter is yes we are trying to keep it going. I never even rode in a boat until 2002 at the age of 22 and learned how to swim in 2004 and went to some of these races and thought it was cool, then it all started from there. All I'm trying to do is get some ppl interested and help the sport from dying, once it's gone then what? You want your kids to play boat racing on computers? It's about getting out there and having fun with your family and friends. I'll admit it gets boring at times and I know it's a lot of work, and money, neither of things I have much of. Almost to the point I'm burned out and wanna only race when there's a bunch of ppl because that's what makes it fun to me. I just started this here to let everyone know there is real money 50k now and if there is more participation it could bring lots more. At the end of the day I'm just a blue collar worker that doesn't have a pot to piss in and anyone could go out there and win this thing. That's what makes it fun. In this class you could be a Randy Davis or a guy like me, it doesn't matter, it's anyone's game. A little skill, a lot of help and lots of luck could get you to the finish line and bring home the purse. I used that as the title of the thread because I knew it would attract all the nutswinging homos. And I think there are plenty of capable Schiadas to come out here and whoop some ass and possibly win under the current gn rules. Not that big of a deal. Anyway hope to see some of you guys out there. I know of a couple boats for sale to do this event if anyone is interested just let me know.

Do the GN boats have to stay under a certain top speed MPH? Not trying to be a jerk but what does a GN boat see on the top end typically?

To be quite honest I'm not sure for this event. But I think it's a average lap speed, but let's say it's 100mph. When it comes to this race so even if your boat goest lets say 110-115 , with the turns and the rough water, your lap time obviously is gonna diminish and bring our average down. As far as top speed I don't know, lots of guys tell me crazy numbers but yet I'm usually 10-15 mph less then them but somehow always end up right up there with them if not in front of them at times

So it’s only the DIV 7 boats that get DQd for going too fast at any given time?

I don't know. I haven't raced this event since 2012. If they say you get DQ'd for going over a certain speed then we will obviously make sure we don't go over a certain speed, plain and simple, break out you get penalized not that hard to back her down, the right pedal works both ways

The nordic is capable of some crazy speeds. I heard they don’t think it safe to have him passing other traffic at the speeds he can run. I’m not gonna say what Gary’s boat is capable of while testing but it can sustain speeds in excess of what Barker sent me his boat will run top speed. But to be fair he’s running more hp than anything else out there including the Nordic and Tub of Fools.

Gary won in division V and his boat was listed as GN17 in 2007 btw.

Yeah just because a boat has a sticker or paint that says "gn" doesn't mean it is a current "gn" legal deal, and that was a different division then the gn legal boats. I mean I'm pretty sure if I stuck Gary's motor in my shitbox it would run whatever # Gary runs but just a tad more;)

This is correct. After the win is when they changed the rules and said you could no longer run turbos.

Unrestricted without prop limits or weight, however they slow it down, do you think the Nordic is the v-bottom king on Parkerover a sustained distance? No baiting for an argument of brand vs brand honestly, no dog in the fight, its just I saw that thing running one enduro and at that speed and look of relative comfort, I could just imagine it going for miles on the strip.

Gary has never ran with the GN boats in the Enduro. The Enduro has always had a GN legal class. He has always run Div 5 or 6 which is unlimited V drive. He had GN in front of his number because he ran a few GN races before the did away with the turbos over 15 years ago. This side bet is for GN legal boats only that are running in the GN Division.

There is no doubt that Randy's boat, v bottom 250,000$ Motor and outdrive drive package is the king of the enduro for his class

Tom and Carter are a “video crew”. Lol.

Media crew sound better?

I was thinking about bringing a few more guys and putting go pros on the boats etc.. (Hence the crew part) Like we used to do for the Enduro.

Holding for moment at $50,500. I have two more that are making sure their boat/engine's will done before committing. Hopefully by the end of next week we'll get them both signed up and it will be over $60k

That boat is way more efficient and dialed in than anything else out there. It’s also so expensive that no one can build anything to compete with it. I’m not sure what it’s capable of speed wise but I would guess north of 130??

Not doubting that. Just replying to someone who asked about it. He’s pretty much the last of that breed racing an unlimited vdrive with the exception of Jimmy. It will be a sad day when he quits racing.

Jon Cole's boat was extremely impressive! Not sure how much power it made, but maybe we will see it at the enduro this year?

The max speed limit for the Enduro is 110 mph as an equalizer and safety feature (makes insurance happy) especially since we have so many non racers that show up once a year to go racing. Div IV thru Div VII must run onboard GPS (Garmin E-trex) and it is checked each pit stop (mandatory 2 stops (11 minute) during the Parker Enduro). If a racer breaks out he/she is docked a lap but last year, when we first instituted it no one broke out and we checked all GPS's and even had 5 radar guns on either side of the river at the long straights to insure no manipulation of the GPS's could happen. It was a great race, Jon Roth, Greg Foster/Al Stoker did a great job as usual (3 month's plus of prep work on the boat and engine) plus testing, testing, testing to run it all day where they did. Duff might have won it in a legal GN had he not split a gas tank more than 1/2 way through the race but we'll never know. This years race will definitely be something to see. Have had over a dozen calls since the announcement of $50+K "incentive" and several Div. V boats that considering putting together a "legal" GN motor to try for the money. Right now still a 1 in 8 chance to get the money, pretty good odds!! Stay tuned!!

Hey Andy, you guys can round up all the cash you want, but you're still #2 in fan preference compared to Crackerboxs! Oh wait.... Maybe you're #3 behind K's!
