At FIL's cabin in MN, the master bath shitter is in the laundry room right next to the dryer. It can be kind of cozy actually...

Not unusual . It's called a half bath . Toilet and sink but no tub or shower . But the one thing I see odd for a house in Havasu it is actually made of brick rather than plywood , Chicken wire and stucco .

Maybe I’m misreading the layout but it looks like in pic 18 that there is a door to the backyard from that room. I’m not sure but that’s my interpretation.

There you are lounging by the pool and you let go a big fart but it comes with a runny surprise so you waddle your way to the service porch, dump your shorts into the washing machine, take a seat on the throne to finish the job and grab a bowl of shredded wheat to fix the apparent lack of fiber, while waiting for the spin dry cycle. I can see the benefits.

My guess is somebody wanted a fireplace and since so, few homes are built here with fireplaces that’s what they added.

I also think the toilet in the service porch/laundry area was an afterthought added later. I think that wall on the other side leads to the garage never did see a man door leading to the garage.
