so you can buy that for $1000 and then sink another $7500 into it to make it a decent boat you can sell for $3500. Sure...why not? :thumbsdown

Yeah sink about 8k into it make it like new, then turn around and only get about 4k for it

Boat=1k
fixing=8k
=9k
estimate of selling cost = 4k
9-4= 5k

so its a good buy to throw 5 grand away :thumbsdown

Unfortunately, this looks like the first jet boat my brother and I bought in 1998. It is a 76' Tahiti and I believe it was 19' not 21'. We bought the boat from a correctional officer in Rialto for $1000. The only major problem then was a blown head gasket in the Olds 455. We had that fixed and it was a turn key boat. Over the 4 years we owned it, we put in all new wood, interior, gauges; rub rail, bimini top and headers. We had the pump rebuilt by G&S marine and we had it painted. The motor let go on memorial weekend in 02 but we knew the new boat was arriving soon so we sold it to make room. I don't remember anything being wrong with the trailer when it was sold. After seeing this thread, I wish we would have kept it. I have lots of great memories in that boat turning wrenches with my brother and putting a lot of sweat into it. Here are a some pics that I could dig up.
It was black when we first bought it
